Job Description

Perkins&Will London is currently recruiting a Senior Architect to join our creative studio.

We are an award-winning international design firm and industry leaders in commitment to sustainable design. Our London office is established as one of the most successful design firms in the UK and Europe, delivering a wide range of professional design services including corporate interiors, strategic workplace consultancy services, new build architecture, large scare urban design and planning development and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

Design & Creative Thinking

  • Develop and lead strong design ideas in response to project briefs and context.
  • Contribute to design development from concept through to delivery.
  • Produce clear, high-quality drawings, models and presentations.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews and critiques.
  • Research materials, systems and sustainable design approaches.

Project Delivery & Technical Coordination

  • Take responsibility for design packages and project workstreams.
  • Coordinate architectural information across disciplines and with consultants.
  • Apply relevant building regulations, standards and technical principles.
  • Support technical and construction-stage delivery, including RFIs, submittals and reviews.
  • Monitor project programme, scope, budget and quality.

Business Development & Client Relationships

  • Contribute to bids, competitions and proposals.
  • Support client presentations, meetings and workshops.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
  • Represent the studio and its Living Design approach.

Team & Studio Contribution

  • Mentor and support junior team members.
  • Contribute to design forums, critiques, CPD and studio initiatives.
  • Share knowledge and contribute to the development of the wider team.
  • Demonstrate initiative, reliability and a collaborative approach.

Design & Creative Thinking

  • Develop thoughtful, contextually grounded design ideas in response to project briefs and client needs.
  • Contribute to concept, developed and detailed design stages with creativity and technical rigour.
  • Produce high-quality drawings, models, presentations and other design information.
  • Participate actively in design reviews, critiques and collaborative workshops.
  • Research materials, systems, precedents and sustainable design approaches.
  • Balance creative ambition with technical feasibility, programme and project requirements.

Project Delivery & Technical Coordination

  • Take ownership of defined design and technical packages within projects.
  • Coordinate architectural information with structural, MEP and other consultants.
  • Apply knowledge of building regulations, standards and technical principles to support compliant design solutions.
  • Contribute to construction-stage activities, including RFIs, submittals and technical reviews.
  • Support project programmes, deliverables and quality control processes.
  • Demonstrate awareness of project scope, budget and programme when making day-to-day decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with project leaders to help deliver projects from design through to construction.

Business Development & Studio Representation

  • Contribute to bids, competitions and proposals through drawings, visuals, research and written content.
  • Support client presentations, meetings and workshops where appropriate.
  • Help communicate and represent the studio’s values and Living Design approach.
  • Contribute to the development of compelling project narratives and presentation material.

Team & Studio Contribution

  • Support and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and technical skills.
  • Contribute to design forums, critiques, CPD sessions and studio initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate clearly with colleagues and project teams.
  • Demonstrate initiative, reliability and a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive studio culture

What We're Looking For

  • RIBA Part 3 / ARB or equivalent professional registration.
  • Significant experience delivering architectural projects across multiple stages.
  • Strong design, technical and project coordination skills.
  • Experience leading teams and taking ownership of project workstreams.
  • Strong client, consultant and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Good commercial awareness, including budget, programme, scope and risk.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and strategic thinking.
  • A passion for innovative, sustainable and people-centred design.
