About the role
The Guinness Partnership are looking to hire a Group Tax Manager on a full-time, permanent contract, based in either our London or Oldham office. We currently offer hybrid working, blending office days with days working from home.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a Tax Manager with experience gained in either industry or practice, with technical knowledge of UK tax legislation, compliance requirements and the ability to stay up to date with regulatory changes. You will have experience of analysing, communicating and preparing tax returns, in some instances working with external advisors to coordinate and manage information requests. Returns will consist of VAT (including partial exemption), CIS and Corporation Tax, Excellent attention to detail, reconciliation skills and outstanding communication will be key for this role.
You will be able to demonstrate these essential skills:
- Experience of tax either in industry or practice, with strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements and ability to keep track of changes.
- Understanding, analysing and communicating matters pertaining to Corporation Tax, CIS or VAT (specifically partial exemption) and the return processes.
- Implementing process improvements and enhancing internal controls.
- Experience of working with external advisors and supporting the co-ordination, communication and cataloguing of requests.
- Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
- A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in reconciliation.
- Excellent oral and written communications.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Proven customer service experience.
- Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.
- Demonstrates the Guinness Leadership and Management Standard.
Desirable skills:
- Proven experience of leading on the preparation of financial statements for audit and the application of accounting standards.
- Knowledge of Oracle Financials.
- Relevant experience within the social housing sector.
Essential qualifications:
- CCAB or CIMA qualification.
Desirable qualifications:
- Tax qualification.
Please note, the advertised salary includes a £6,000 London Job Supplement that you will only receive if based at our Euston Road office.
