Trainee Dental Nurse – Angle House Edmonton

Are you looking to start a rewarding career in dentistry? Angle House is looking for a Trainee Dental Nurse who is enthusiastic, caring, and eager to learn, to join our friendly and supportive team.

Our orthodontists rely on Dental Nurses as a vital part of the clinical team, and our patients value the reassurance and professionalism they bring. As a Trainee Dental Nurse, you’ll receive hands-on experience, structured training, and the opportunity to develop the skills needed for a long-term career in dentistry. We are passionate about developing our people and actively promote from within, offering excellent progression opportunities.

This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover for 13 months, starting in January 2027 (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday). As this is a fixed-term role, you may not be able to complete your Dental Nursing qualification while working at Angle House.

Why work with us?

  • Bonus scheme
  • Private medical cover (after 1 year of service)
  • Supportive and friendly working environment
  • Comprehensive training and development opportunities
  • Paid training support including Agilio membership (iLearn) and Angle House Education
  • Enhanced pension scheme (after 2 years of service)
  • Social events (online at present)
  • Work-life balance

As a trainee, you will receive guidance and hands-on training in these duties during your first few months. As your knowledge, confidence and competence develop, you will gradually take on these responsibilities yourself under the supervision of a clinician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clinicians with chairside support during dental and orthodontic procedures
  • Ensure patient comfort, care, and wellbeing at all times
  • Prepare and maintain clinical equipment and treatment areas
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with patients throughout their journey
  • Support the Practice Manager and wider clinical team to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and health & safety
  • Liaise with reception to ensure effective patient communication and record transfer
  • Contribute positively to practice objectives and patient experience

Please note: Angle House is an orthodontic practice, so the clinical experience available here will not cover every requirement in your course Record of Experience (RoE). You will need to arrange to gain any outstanding experience at another Angle House practice or elsewhere. We will support you with this where possible.

Requirements:

  • A strong interest in dentistry and patient care
  • Willingness to enrol on or currently enrolled in a Dental Nursing Level 3 qualification
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and reliable attitude
  • Good IT skills

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Interest in orthodontics or oral surgery
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or customer-facing role
