Technical Manager

Location: Holborn Viaduct

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead all engineering and compliance activities on a single, high-profile static commercial site in the City of London.

The role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of hard services, providing technical leadership to the on-site engineering team, and acting as the key point of contact for all technical matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical leadership across electrical and mechanical services.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
  • Act as the site lead for HV/LV operations, ensuring works are carried out in line with company procedures and legislation.
  • Support and manage Authorised Persons and engineering staff on site.
  • Maintain and update Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and RAMS.
  • Provide technical support to the site management team and client as required.
  • Monitor asset performance, compliance records, and risk management activities.
  • Investigate incidents and contribute to Root Cause Analysis where required.
  • Ensure training, competency, and permit standards are maintained on site.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and consistent ways of working.

Reporting Line

  • Reports to the Technical Director / Engineering Lead.
  • Works closely with the Site Manager and client stakeholders.

Required Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering within commercial buildings.
  • Previous experience in a Technical Manager, Engineering Manager, or Senior Authorised Person role.
  • Working knowledge of HV/LV systems and compliance requirements.
  • Sound understanding of statutory compliance, H&S legislation, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead, support, and develop on-site engineering teams.

Desirable:

  • HV or LV Authorised Person status.
  • Experience working on high-end corporate or critical environments in the City of London.
  • Facilities Management or hard services background.
