Pricing & Market Access Strategy - Associate Consultant

ZS’s Pricing & Market Access team partners with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to address strategic questions around pricing, reimbursement, access and value. The team supports clients in navigating payer expectations, evolving health systems and policy environments, and the commercial considerations that shape how innovative medicines reach patients.

As an Associate Consultant, you will take ownership of project workstreams, combining structured problem solving, research and analysis with increasing exposure to clients. The level is designed for growing specialists who are ready to deepen their technical expertise while taking on greater responsibility for project delivery.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support pricing and market access strategy engagements for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients, translating complex market dynamics into clear strategic recommendations.
  • Conduct research and analysis across payer, competitor, policy and market access landscapes, identifying the implications for client strategy
  • Support the development and localisation of value propositions to reflect payer expectations, health-system requirements and different policy environments.
  • Contribute to launch pricing and access strategy, including pricing decisions, market and indication launch sequencing, and considerations around early-access programmes.
  • Support pricing strategy and scenario analyses, including international reference pricing considerations, price targets, floors and corridors, and potential pricing adjustments as products or markets evolve.
  • Work on product lifecycle strategy, helping clients connect global market access strategy with regional and local execution from pre-launch through post-launch and loss of exclusivity.
  • Help clients understand how evidence generation can strengthen the value proposition and maximise the opportunity for a product.
  • Structure analyses, synthesise findings and translate complex information into compelling client recommendations and presentations.
  • Take ownership of defined project workstreams, working collaboratively with colleagues and increasingly engaging directly with clients, consistent with the Associate Consultant level at ZS.
  • Contribute to the continued development of ZS’s Pricing & Market Access capabilities, methodologies and thought leadership.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience within life sciences consulting and/or the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or wider healthcare industry.
  • Experience in areas such as pricing, market access, reimbursement, value strategy, health economics, payer research, HTA or launch strategy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex information into commercially relevant insights.
  • An understanding of pharmaceutical development and commercialisation, and an interest in the factors that determine patient access to innovative medicines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present analyses and recommendations clearly.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within collaborative, international project teams.
  • A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree. Backgrounds in life sciences, health economics, public health, economics, business or a related discipline would be particularly relevant.

How you’ll grow:

  • Cross-functional skills development & custom learning pathways
  • Milestone training programs aligned to career progression opportunities
  • Internal mobility paths that empower growth via s-curves, individual contribution and role expansions
