About Liverpool Bay CCS Limited

This project is the backbone of the HyNet Cluster, aimed at reducing carbon emissions from a wide range of industrial sectors across the North West of England and North Wales. Liverpool Bay CCS Ltd works with hard-to-abate industries to transport their captured CO₂ from various plants to safe and permanent store in depleted offshore reservoirs, beneath Liverpool Bay. The company, in addition to new facilities, is repurposing some of its existing infrastructure, including onshore/offshore pipelines, industrial plant and offshore structures, to support economic growth in the region and help the UK path to achieve its energy transition objectives. By joining Liverpool Bay CCS Ltd, employees become part of a pioneering effort in a fast-growing CCS business, contributing to a sustainable future while benefiting from a dynamic and innovative work environment.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage subsurface risks, uncertainties and technical issues, supporting key project decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with storage permits, licences and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee subsurface modelling, data acquisition and technical assurance activities.

  • Prepare and deliver subsurface documentation and regulatory submissions.
  • Provide technical input to project leadership, governance forums and regulatory engagements.
  • Contribute to CCS knowledge sharing and industry engagement initiatives.
  • Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary team, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the adoption of industry best practices, emerging technologies and innovative approaches.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards and HSE requirements.

  • Strong understanding of reservoir characterisation, well-data interpretation and 3D subsurface modelling.
  • Good understanding of operations and process facilities.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing people.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and organisational levels.
