Location: City of London, near St Pauls

Shift Pattern: 4 On 4 Off, 10:00-22:00 (Days Only)

BGIS is seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer with an electrical bias to join our on-site engineering team at a prestigious commercial property in London.

This is a hands-on role responsible for the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across a varied portfolio of electrical and mechanical building services systems. Working as part of a professional engineering team, you will ensure all plant and equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to minimise downtime.
• Maintain lighting, power, emergency lighting, UPS, generators, HVAC, pumps, motors and associated plant.
• Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support subcontractors and specialist service providers on site.
• Complete accurate maintenance records using CAFM systems.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures, permits to work and statutory regulations.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service to building occupants and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Experience within commercial building maintenance, facilities management or a critical environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of both electrical and mechanical building services.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

• HV/LV switching experience.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Previous experience in a flagship commercial office, banking, corporate or critical environment.
