Here at Asterix Health we are solving the biggest problem in healthcare: the shortage of highly-qualified doctors. Millions of patients wait weeks for appointments or sit on hospital waitlists, and preventable conditions go unnoticed.

Asterix is building the only scalable solution. We're a remote healthcare services provider and the only company approved to work with GPs working remotely for the NHS from abroad. Our doctors are supported by rigorous clinical leadership, real-world primary care workflows and technology that helps them make safer, more consistent decisions.

Founded by Julian and Max (who met at Entrepreneurs First), we're backed by Triple Point Ventures, D2 Fund, DLB Ventures and angels from healthcare, technology and policy. We're deployed at some of the UK's largest healthcare providers, generating revenue and scaling fast.

Your mission

You'll run and develop service delivery from contract signature to renewal, as we grow from 450,000 to 10,000,000+ patients and from 4 to 10+ new practices launched per month. The service works and practices love having Asterix GPs on their team. Your job is to make it consistent and repeatable at scale.

What you'll own

  • The operating model: how we manage service performance and practice health across the journey, from pilot to ongoing delivery and retention.
  • Standard operating procedures: internal and external SOPs, including monthly reporting, headcount planning and feedback loops tracking each practice.
  • Team development: line manage, coach and empower the Medical Operations team, who own practice relationships day to day, to deliver an industry-leading service.
  • Continuous improvement: use practice feedback to improve delivery across all accounts.

Who you'll work with

You'll report to Max (Co-founder & COO) and line manage the Medical Operations team. You'll work closely with Julian (Co-founder & CEO) on Sales and Customer Experience, Dr Harriet Bradley (Medical Director) on Clinical and Governance, and Jamil (Delivery Operations Manager) on GP supply-side operations.

Who you are

You've delivered NHS services such as you've run a primary care service, practice group, PCN or federation, or an ICB-commissioned service. You know what it takes to launch a service, hold it to its targets and keep practices confident in it. You've set up or rebuilt service operations, owned them end to end and grown them with the organisation.

You thrive in the detail (onboarding, SOPs, KPIs, service reviews) without losing sight of retention, growth and practices recommending us to their neighbours. You're comfortable with ambiguity, happy to roll up your sleeves, and want to help GP practices, PCNs, GP Federations and private providers across the UK get the most from our remote GP workforce.

No startup or tech background needed. We use AI and automation heavily and will invest in your development on them.

You're likely to have

  • 7+ years in a senior NHS primary care operations or service delivery role
  • Launched a new NHS service or contract, held it to target and reported to practices, PCNs or ICBs
  • Led a CQC inspection
  • Managed and developed a team, including clinical staff
  • Challenged senior colleagues when a trade-off was wrong
  • Strong commercial grasp of service economics, and the ability to communicate it
  • Strong structural thinking and grounded decisions on imperfect information
  • Knowledge of EMIS, SystmOne and Docman, and how labs, documents and appointments move through a practice

Why join us

You'll have outsized impact on the company's trajectory, with the trust, ownership and scope to solve complex, customer-facing problems your way. You'll learn more, faster, than anywhere else.

  • Purpose & pace: a once-in-a-generation shot at healthcare's biggest problem, as the only company in the country approved to do this. We move fast and execute without compromise.
  • No friction: we cover whatever tools or resources you need.
  • A tight-knit team: we work hard because we care, laugh a lot, eat together and back each other completely.

You'll be a great fit if you: care deeply about your work, the people around you, users and the mission; want to work hard with pace and endurance (this is not a 9-to-5); are high agency and own complex problems; are a team player who enjoys regular socials; and are resourceful. Tell us about the service you fixed, the inspection you turned around or the process you rebuilt from scratch. We care about what you've achieved, not your credentials.

Our culture: the Asterix way

  • Humble: we assume we're wrong until the data or a clinician proves otherwise. Curiosity over ego.
  • High-intensity, founder mentality: you don't wait for permission; you push problems to resolution and act like an owner.
  • Joyful energy: we take the work seriously, not ourselves, and celebrate progress.
  • In-person by design: we work shoulder to shoulder in London.

We're early-stage with massive ambition and ambitious delivery targets. If you want a traditional 9-to-5, this role isn't for you.
