Senior Project Manager
OpticoreIT
Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Project Manager to lead the design and delivery of a Data Centre migration/exit programme for a large Insurance company client. The client is exiting its current Data Centre – a fully Cisco-based transit facility spanning 30 racks, multiple circuits and numerous 3rd-party VPNs supporting approximately 500 applications.
The is a hybrid position with circa 2 days a week required in Central London and will be on an initial 12 month contract, Inside IR35 with scope to extend.
Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.
What you'll be doing:
- Day to day, the Project Manager will run governance and steering forums, own and maintain the project plan and RAID log, coordinate with the incumbent DC/network provider and 3rd parties, plan and negotiate change windows, track scope and cost discipline, and act as the primary escalation point between the client and delivery teams.
- This is dedicated project work – a time-boxed Data Centre migration/exit programme
- Lead the programme, given the scale, complexity and business-critical nature of the DC (30 racks, multiple circuits, ~500 applications in transit) and the risk associated with change in that environment.
- Lead a project team including a Systems/Business Analyst, client stakeholders, engineers from the incumbent DC/network provider, and 3rd-party representatives, reporting into the client's senior sponsor and the Opticore engagement lead.
- May be expected to support scope-change justification documentation, cost-discipline reporting, and ad hoc executive updates as the programme progresses.
What you'll bring:
- Data Centre migration/exit project delivery.
- Proven track record leading DC migration, consolidation or exit programmes end-to-end.
- Comfortable operating in a fully Cisco-based network estate; able to converse credibly with network engineers.
- Stakeholder & 3rd-party/vendor management.
- Change & risk governance.
Diversity:
At OpticoreIT we embrace diversity and are committed to equal opportunities. We actively recruit for an inclusive and diverse workforce and as such, want to ensure we do everything we can to support your application.
We want you to feel empowered to let us know if you require any adjustments to be made with your application or interview process so, please speak to our recruitment team.
