Who we’re looking for

The Senior Events Manager (12-month FTC) – wealth management is responsible for the management and co-ordination of events this includes webinar, conferences, corporate sponsorship and private dinners, lunches and a range of hospitality from the initial concept stage through to the logistics and hosting. The role will report directly to the Global Head of Marketing – wealth management and involves managing a range of events managing senior stakeholders within the agreed deadlines and budget. The role requires the individual to build strong relationships with the wider team, stakeholders across the business and suppliers.

The job holder has responsibility to pay due regard to the interests of our customers and treat them fairly, ensuring that the information provided to clients on services is clear and useful and enables them to understand fully what they are being offered. They are required to familiarise themselves fully with the team’s current procedures, FCA compliance requirements, and the principles behind ‘Conduct Risk’.

Please note, this role is a fixed term contract position for up-to 12 months.

The base

This role will be based in our London office.

What you’ll do

  • To organise and manage internal and external events including corporate hospitality, investment seminars, sponsorship events, road shows and some regional events for the Wealth Management business
  • On-Site Support: Provide on-site support during events to ensure smooth operations and address issues promptly
  • Virtual Event Expertise: Plan and execute virtual and hybrid events, ensuring technical excellence and engaging experiences
  • Maintain up-to-date records of event attendance and ensure all information is fed into the events database
  • Project manage individual events from concept to completion including venue search and negotiation, AV, speakers and entertainment sourcing, registration, and logistics at the event
  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure that the appropriate collateral is prepared and delivered on time, accurately and on brand
  • Budget Management: Manage financial tracking, including budgeting, invoicing, and documentation
  • Complete Schroders Health & Safety, risk assessment and insurance responsibilities
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all events comply with local regulations, GDPR, and Schroders’ global compliance standards
  • Registration & Attendee Management: Handle participant registration processes, manage attendee databases, coordinate invitations, and respond to inquiries
  • Manage events in the event system (Adobe Campaign)
  • Events timeline – work with Marketing to ensure this is up-to-date and all deliverables clearly defined
  • Post-Event Evaluation & Analytics: Collect feedback and conduct evaluations to assess success, identify improvements, and build data-driven insights
  • Vendor Management: Communicate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring requirements are met and timelines adhered to
  • Manage presentation content where relevant in conjunction with speakers, for events and ensure it’s compliant for the relevant audience
  • All events must be delivered within the regulatory framework, whilst adhering to the corporate brand and style guidelines
  • Team Management: Lead and manage event team, including contractors
  • Oversee management of regional events
  • UK Marketing Team Support: Collaborate with the UK Marketing team to create promotional materials and assist in implementing marketing strategies for upcoming events, ensuring compliance
  • Taking responsibility of the event schedule and successful delivery of the programme

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in Events Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Extensive and in-depth events experience ideally with financial services/wealth management
  • Knowledge and understanding of event strategy implementation and their respective phases (planning, execution and follow-up)
  • Able to demonstrate successful delivery of events
  • Ability to take ownership and work proactively to ensure the success of the events
  • Experience organising virtual and hybrid events, preferably using Zoom
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects to tight deadlines
  • Ability to use own initiatives and work effectively alone or as a member of the wider team
  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with event management software and virtual event platforms
