About VEV

VEV specialises in designing and implementing scaled enterprise fleet solutions. Our expertise lies in optimising fleets, charging infrastructure, and operations to maximise the benefits of transitioning to sustainable transportation. With a wealth of experience in delivering comprehensive turnkey charging solutions at scale, we are committed to guiding organisations through a seamless transition towards a greener future.

VEV LV is VEV's new internal delivery arm focussed exclusively on Low Voltage (LV) electrical works - including installation, testing and support. Formed to reduce third party reliance and recover margin lost to subcontracting, VEV LV is a core enabler in our wider strategy to deliver end to end energy infrastructure.

Position overview

We are looking for a Senior Electrician to join the foundational team delivering VEV's in house LV capability. This is a hands-on, senior-level field role for an electrician with a strong technical foundation, leadership qualities, and a desire to support decarbonisation at scale.

You'll take responsibility for executing and overseeing critical installation and testing works - while playing a pivotal role in shaping the quality, safety, and culture of VEV LV.

Core responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver low voltage electrical installations across EV infrastructure, battery systems, and other sustainable projects
  • Ensure all work is compliant with BS7671 wiring regulations, VEV policies, and NICEIC certification standards
  • Execute inspections, testing, and commissioning for electrical systems with detailed documentation
  • Interpret schematics and drawings, and work alongside engineers to align delivery with design and programme
  • Provide on-site leadership, mentoring junior electricians and embedding a culture of quality and safety
  • Support internal performance tracking, testing accuracy, and governance activities
  • Work collaboratively across the wider VEV team to support end to end project delivery
  • Actively participate in the development of VEV LV as a saleable high-performance unit

The successful candidate will:

  • Be NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation certified
  • Be 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certified
  • Be 2391 or 2394/2395 Testing and Inspection certified
  • Have ECS/JIB Gold Card
  • Have a minimum of 5+ years of LV installation experience including testing responsibilities
  • Have a strong commitment to safety, technical quality, and low carbon impact
  • Hold a full UK driving licence

VEV is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences. Learn more about our existing projects and vision for the future at https://www.vev.com.
