Senior Commercial Strategy Manager – Automotive

The Role

Gumtree is looking for a Senior Commercial Strategy Manager to shape the future of our Cars & Vehicles marketplace. You'll own the growth strategy for one of Gumtree's largest categories, working closely with Product, Marketing, Analytics, Sales and Operations to identify new opportunities, shape the product roadmap, launch new products and partnerships, and unlock sustainable marketplace growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial Ownership & Monetization: Develop and implement strategies to grow Gumtree’s Cars & Vehicles vertical, focusing on both C2C liquidity and B2B dealer network initiatives.
• Product Partnership: Partner with Product to shape roadmap priorities, validate opportunities and launch new customer experiences.
• Go-To-Market Strategy: Define and execute GTM strategies to launch new products, increase acquisition and improve seller success.
• Pricing Strategy: Set competitive and innovative pricing structures to drive adoption and retention while ensuring profitability.
• Cross-Functional leadership: Work closely with sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of business initiatives.
• Marketplace Liquidity: Monitor and address marketplace dynamics, ensuring an optimal balance between buyer and seller demand.
• Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs to inform business strategies.
• Commercial Analysis: Conduct detailed commercial analysis to uncover growth opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• 5+ years in a commercial strategy, category management, or StratOps role.
• Experience in online marketplaces and/or automotive.
• Expertise in creating and executing Go-To-Market strategies.
• Experience working with Product teams to optimise performance and implement new solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of supply-demand dynamics in a marketplace or similar environment.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
