At BakerHicks, we deliver creative design, engineering and project delivery solutions that help shape a healthier, safer and more sustainable world.

Our multidisciplinary teams work across some of the UK and Europe’s most technically demanding and highly regulated sectors, combining technical excellence with practical, high-quality delivery.

We are looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join our Architecture team on a contract basis.

This is an opportunity to support a busy and growing team delivering complex project work across sectors including Power, Defence, Nuclear and Life Sciences.

You will be joining a wider Architecture team of over 100 people across our office network, working collaboratively with Architects, Technologists and multidisciplinary project teams.

You will be part of a collaborative and supportive environment where people are trusted to deliver and encouraged to contribute to projects that make a real impact.

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Architectural Technologist, you will support the delivery of architectural work across highly regulated project environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of architectural packages across medium to large project teams.
  • Interpreting project briefs and delivering outputs that meet client, project and regulatory requirements.
  • Applying BIM Level 2 principles and good information management practice to project delivery.
  • Supporting the production of specifications, including work involving NBS Chorus.
  • Contributing to technically complex projects in highly regulated sectors such as Nuclear, Defence, Life Sciences and Power.
  • Working with a high level of accuracy, quality and attention to detail.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for an experienced Architectural Technologist who is confident working in complex project environments and can contribute quickly as part of a busy team.

You'll have:

  • Experience in an Architectural Technologist role
  • A high level of proficiency in Revit.
  • A strong understanding of BIM Level 2.
  • Experience delivering architectural packages with limited supervision.
  • Experience working on projects within highly regulated sectors such as Nuclear, Defence, Life Sciences or Power.
  • Experience with NBS Chorus specifications.
  • The ability to work independently and deliver against a brief.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and multiple office locations.

Many of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance or security assurance levels.

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role (SC level), in line with client and sector requirements.

In some cases, additional nationality or residency criteria may also apply due to specific client or national security obligations.

Further information on National security clearance levels can be found on the UK Government website: (National security vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK)
