Do you want to work at the heart of strategic decision-making, helping EDF navigate change while creating value and supporting the journey to net zero? At EDF, Success is Personal – and with us, your career can make a real impact on the future of energy.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Adviser Policy and Regulation (Markets), you'll play a key role in identifying, understanding and influencing complex energy market policy and regulatory issues. Working within EDF’s Strategy and Policy team, you'll help shape industry outcomes that support our businesses while contributing to a more sustainable energy future.

You’ll join us on a salary starting of £73,200 per annum depending on your experience. This is a flexible role, with team members based across #London, #Gloucester and #Hove. You'll have the flexibility to work from a location that suits you, with occasional travel to other EDF business sites and stakeholder locations.

You'll work on high-profile market issues, collaborate with senior stakeholders across EDF, and build relationships with organisations including Ofgem, NESO, National Grid and Government. Alongside varied and challenging work, you'll benefit from a supportive team environment and opportunities to broaden your expertise across the energy sector.

Who You Are

We're looking for a Senior Adviser Policy and Regulation professional who enjoys analysing complex market issues, influencing stakeholders, and identifying opportunities that create business value. You'll be proactive, commercially aware, and comfortable working across multiple priorities. To be shortlisted, you need to offer...

  • Broad understanding of the UK energy sector, key industry participants and current market issues
  • Detailed knowledge of UK energy markets and industry rules and regulations underpinning electricity markets
  • Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting complex issues clearly to a range of audiences
  • Analytical and numerical expertise with a rigorous approach to accuracy and quality
  • Experience managing multiple assignments simultaneously while working independently and to tight deadlines

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading on a range of energy market policy and regulatory issues, providing expert advice on market rules and frameworks
  • Working with EDF businesses to identify risks, create value and support strategic decision-making
  • Building strong internal relationships to help teams understand market developments and their business impact
  • Representing EDF's position in industry forums and meetings with regulators, Government and other stakeholders
  • Monitoring emerging policy developments and helping shape future regulatory outcomes

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a starting salary of £73,200 per annum depending on your experience, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.
