Overview

Reporting into the Head of Atelier, the seamstress will support and work cohesively with the sampling team within our London HQ Design studio. Using a range of sustainable fabrics, the role requires a high level of understanding of patterns, sewing and technical finishing.

Your Mission:

• Work closely with pattern maker to create high end samples and toiles
• Cutting samples in preparation for sewing (fuse fabrics if necessary)
• Make samples on schedule to exact specifications
• Pressing samples, toiles, vintage or archive pieces
• Working on VIP /VIC samples
• Prepare Paris kit before travelling to Paris show room
• Attend fittings when necessary
• Adhoc tasks assigned by manager in line with the requirements of an atelier
• Maintain, repair, or alter garments when requested
• Hand sewing
• Turning on and off the iron in workroom and maintain once a week
• Keep workstation organised
• Order trims when needed for example zips, threads

Your Talent:

· Excellent attention to detail

· Excellent time management skills

· Flexible and have an ability to adapt to the changing demands of a design studio

· Hand sewing skills essential
