Our Safe Neighbourhood Team plays a vital role in helping to keep our homes and communities safe. Through early intervention, prevention initiatives and partnership working, the team is committed to tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) and supporting customers to feel safe where they live.

We have an opportunity for a Safe Neighbourhood Officer to join our Safe Neighbourhoods and Support Service on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a field-based role covering the East London and the surrounding areas, with occasional travel to other locations when required.

Reporting to the Safe Neighbourhood Manager, you will investigate and manage ASB cases, taking a victim-centred approach to achieve positive outcomes for customers and communities. Working closely with local authorities, police and partner agencies, you will deliver prevention projects, identify safeguarding concerns and explore practical solutions to reduce ASB and neighbourhood issues.

You will also work alongside our ASB and Legal teams to support legal action where required, including attending court hearings and presenting straightforward cases such as injunctions and possession proceedings.

While the role is primarily worked during normal business hours, there may be occasional requirements to work evenings or weekends to support investigations, attend meetings, court hearings or respond to operational needs.

As this is a mobile role, you will need a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced housing professional with a passion for community safety and delivering excellent customer service. You will be confident managing complex and sensitive cases, building effective partnerships and making informed decisions to achieve positive outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Experience of managing anti-social behaviour cases and delivering targeted prevention initiatives.
  • Experience within housing, property management or a related environment.
  • Knowledge of social housing legislation and current best practice.
  • Strong investigation, problem-solving and case management skills.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with customers, colleagues and external agencies.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable customers and identifying safeguarding concerns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Essential Qualification

  • Educated to Level 2 (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent) or higher.

Please note this role will require a DBS check, which Guinness will arrange as part of the onboarding process.

The salary advertised for this position includes an additional £4,000 London Local Job Supplement.

If you're interested in joining us and would like to apply for this role, please review the role profile to ensure you meet the essential criteria. As part of your application, please submit an up-to-date CV and a supporting personal statement outlining how your skills, knowledge and experience meet the requirements of the role.
