Job Description
Our Purpose And Culture
We are driven to create a future where people and place enrich one another. We are wholly committed to rooting ourselves more deeply in every place we are in while setting new benchmarks for positive impact. As a pioneering collective with a common purpose, we curate extraordinary moments and honor the soul of every place along our journey.
At Rosewood Hotel Group, we answer The Calling. Together, we Make the Place.
The Team
At The Chancery Rosewood, our Security team plays a critical role in protecting the safety, security and wellbeing of every guest, associate and asset within the property.
Reporting to the Security Supervisor and Security Manager, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the hotel to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment. You will combine the authority of a trained security professional with the warmth, discretion and confidence expected within luxury hospitality.
Your Role
As a Duty Security Officer, you will supervise the Security team on duty and help protect our guests, associates and property while delivering the warm, intuitive service that defines Rosewood’s Relationship Hospitality.
You will provide a visible and approachable presence throughout the property, respond to incidents with composure and sound judgement, and ensure that security is always delivered professionally and with care. You will work closely with hotel departments, emergency services and relevant agencies to support a safe, secure and welcoming environment.
How You’ll Make The Place
- Supervise the Security team during your shift, providing clear direction and ensuring guests, associates and the property remain safe and secure.
- Respond promptly and decisively to incidents, emergencies, fire alarms and other critical situations, following established procedures and providing calm leadership.
- Conduct regular patrols throughout the property, ensuring fire doors, escape routes and emergency access points remain compliant and unobstructed.
- Assess, investigate and report security risks, incidents, thefts, criminal offences and safety hazards, maintaining accurate records and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Manage key-control systems, support secure cash movements and ensure all security documentation is maintained to the required standard.
- Build trusted working relationships across the hotel and liaise professionally with police, emergency services and government agencies when required.
Could This Be You?
- You are a visible, approachable and professional presence who helps guests and colleagues feel safe and welcomed.
- You communicate clearly and confidently, providing calm direction and helping to de-escalate challenging situations.
- You act with discretion, accountability and integrity when managing incidents, confidential information and security records.
- You bring sustained alertness, sound judgement and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential risks.
- You remain composed and adaptable when responding to changing operational demands or emergency situations.
- You hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate of at least three days; SIA certification is preferred.
Our Benefits
- 12 complimentary room nights across The Rosewood Hotel portfolio (friends & family rates also available)
- Discounts on Food & Beverage
- Flexible benefits app and monthly allowance to spend on whatever you like
- Give days - A paid volunteering day of leave annually
- Up to 16 weeks paid parental leave
- Birthday day off - A paid day of leave for your birthday
- Developmental & social calendars
- Life insurance
- Enhanced sick pay policy
Our Commitment To You
At Rosewood Hotel Group, your voice is heard and valued. We’re a community that encourages associates to be themselves, not fit into a fixed culture, and this philosophy shines through in our commitments to reflect and honor the history, culture and geography of our destinations.
We’re not only committed to building and nurturing genuine, long-lasting relationships but to transforming them, and our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy helps put these principles into practice.
