Retail Assistant / Fragrance Specialist
Ffern
Ffern is a natural fragrance house founded on a simple belief — that fine fragrance should be a natural craft product, a liquid alive with the stories of the plants and the processes that go into it. We create one fragrance for each season of the year, and our Beak Street store is where that story comes fully to life: a calm, considered space built for slowing down, discovering, and connecting with the raw materials behind every bottle we make.
Our Retail Assistants are our Fragrance Specialists, and as a Fragrance Specialist you'll be the first point of contact for anyone who walks through our door - welcoming them, understanding what they're really looking for, and guiding them through the world of Ffern with warmth, curiosity and genuine care.
This is a purely in-store role, focused entirely on the craft of hosting a beautiful, unhurried customer experience.
Welcome every customer warmly on arriving, and host them through their journey in store, whether they're
browsing, returning for a repeat purchase, or new to Ffern.
Lead needs-discovery conversations that uncover what a customer is really looking for, through open
questions and attentive listening.
Guide customers through the Apothecary and our seasonal fragrance drawers, pairing raw ingredients and
stories with each recommendation.
Handle questions with warmth and honesty, always offering an alternative rather than a dead end.
Close each visit with care — processing the sale through the POS, offering a relevant sample, a signature
spritz, and a warm invitation to return for the next season's launch.
Support wider store operations as needed, including cleaning, assisting with stocktakes, and changing
seasonal displays.
No prior fragrance or beauty retail experience necessary — what matters most is a genuine interest in fragrance and natural ingredients, and alignment with Ffern's values.
A warm, natural communicator who enjoys conversation and puts customers at ease.
Someone comfortable working flexibly, with availability across our core trading days.
Curiosity, care and attention to detail.
- Part-time, with hours shaped flexibly around the right person — we're open to more than one Specialist as the team grows.
- £15 per hour, plus commission on sales.
- Based at our Beak Street store.
