About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Reconnections Officer, you’ll play a vital role in helping people experiencing rough sleeping take meaningful steps towards a safer and more stable future. Working with individuals who often face multiple disadvantages, you’ll build trusted relationships and develop personalised plans that support sustainable moves off the streets and into accommodation in their home areas. You’ll collaborate closely with outreach, homelessness and support services across Camden, using a creative and person-centred approach to overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes. With access to dedicated funding and the freedom to develop innovative solutions, you’ll be empowered to advocate for residents, coordinate support across agencies, and help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to rebuild their lives and move forward with dignity and hope.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

All About You

To find out more about what it is like to work at Camden, meet some of our People by visiting 'www.camdenjobs.co.uk/our-stories'.

About You

You’re passionate about making a difference for people experiencing rough sleeping and homelessness, particularly those facing multiple disadvantage and social exclusion. You’ll bring experience of working in a person-centred way, building trust with vulnerable adults and helping them navigate complex challenges to achieve positive and lasting outcomes. With a strong understanding of homelessness, housing options and the wider support landscape, you’ll be confident working collaboratively with a range of statutory and voluntary sector partners, advocating on behalf of clients and coordinating support that meets their individual needs.

We’re looking for someone who can work independently while managing a varied caseload, making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment and balancing competing priorities effectively. You’ll be skilled at assessing and managing risk, maintaining professional boundaries and applying trauma-informed, culturally aware and gender-responsive approaches in your practice. Equally important is your resilience, creativity and determination to find solutions, alongside a commitment to safeguarding, partnership working and handling sensitive information responsibly and in line with data protection requirements.
