We are seeking
Dowds is seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager to lead and oversee quality assurance across our projects and business operations. This is a key role responsible for ensuring that all works are delivered to the highest standards, in line with regulatory requirements, client expectations, and internal processes.
Working closely with operational teams, you will embed a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring quality standards are maintained across our Mechanical, Electrical, and Construction activities.
What you'll be responsible for
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, contractual, and internal quality standards
- Conduct internal audits, site inspections, and supplier evaluations
- Support project teams in developing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation
- Identify non-conformances and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across all business units
- Act as the main point of contact for external audits and client quality requirements
- Collaborate with SHEQ and operational teams to ensure integrated compliance
- Provide training and guidance to staff on quality standards and procedures
- Monitor and report on quality performance metrics to senior leadership
What we are looking for
Essential
- Proven experience in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer role within construction, M&E, or engineering sectors
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Experience conducting audits and managing quality documentation
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience managing non-conformances and driving improvement initiatives
- Full UK driving license
Desirable
- Experience within MEP / building services / construction projects
- Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001)
- Knowledge of wider ISO standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
- Familiarity with digital quality management systems
- Experience working across multiple sites or large-scale projects
