Overview

Bespoke Bureau is seeking an exceptional Private Housekeeper / Laundress for a UHNW household based primarily in Knightsbridge. The family is 2 adults (European and middle eastern without kids or pets)

This is a hands-on position requiring someone with excellent all-round housekeeping standards and particularly strong laundry, ironing and garment-care skills.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, meticulous and accustomed to working to the standards expected within a luxury private household. The role is primarily London-based; however, the Principals travel frequently and the Housekeeper must be willing and able to accompany them internationally when required. For example to Spain

The normal working pattern will be five days per week and predominantly daytime hours. However, genuine flexibility is important. The household is looking for someone who understands that private service cannot always operate to an exact finishing time and who is comfortable adapting when circumstances require.

Responsibilities

• Full housekeeping to an exceptional private household standard
• Laundry, ironing and professional garment care
• Excellent knowledge of washing temperatures, fabrics and garment-care instructions
• Care of delicate and high-value clothing
• Maintaining bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas immaculately
• Wardrobe organisation and clothing management
• Assisting with packing and unpacking when required
• Working alongside the household's Valet/Wardrobe Specialist and providing clothing/laundry cover when necessary
• Maintaining excellent organisation throughout the residence
• Preparing the property before the Principals' arrival and maintaining standards during residence
• Working collaboratively with other household staff
• Occasional international travel, including to the family's European residences/destinations
• Remaining flexible around changing schedules and household requirements

Requirements

Candidate Profile

• We are looking for someone who is experienced, calm, discreet, highly organised and genuinely hands-on.
• The successful candidate should have substantial experience within high-end private households and excellent references.
• Strong laundry skills are essential rather than simply an additional housekeeping skill.
• You should be someone who notices what needs doing without constant instruction, takes pride in completing work properly and is comfortable working within a demanding but professionally run private household.
• Candidates must be able to work legally in the UK and have the necessary passport/immigration status to undertake international travel when required.
• Previous UHNW/private household experience essential.
