Pharmacy Operator (Warehouse & Production)

Klira

LondonOn-siteFull Time0-2 years
Posted 5 hours ago

Klira is a UK registered distance-selling pharmacy preparing personalised topical medicines against private prescription. We're looking for a Pharmacy Operator to join our warehouse and dispensing team, with the opportunity to train into cleanroom compounding as you settle in.

This role is built around two stages:

  • From day one: warehouse, dispensing support and dispatch - receiving and checking stock, packing and preparing orders, and getting deliveries out accurately and on time.
  • Once trained and signed off: cleanroom production - supporting non-sterile compounding of creams under pharmacist supervision.

We're building depth across both parts of the operation, so this is a genuine growth role for someone who wants a career in pharmaceutical compounding, not just a warehouse job.

Reports to: Superintendent Pharmacist & Responsible Pharmacist (day-to-day supervision)

Warehouse, Dispensing Support & Dispatch (core, from day one)

  • Receive, check and put away incoming stock and materials against delivery documentation
  • Pick, pack and prepare prescription and cosmetic orders for dispatch, accurately and to daily deadlines
  • Scan and record pumps, lids, sub-assemblies and other components correctly at each stage
  • Support dispensing tasks under pharmacist/Responsible Pharmacist supervision
  • Prepare pre-labelling and packaging ahead of production runs
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous stock and dispatch records
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organised, safe and inspection-ready at all times
  • Flag stock discrepancies, scanner issues or near misses promptly

Cleanroom Compounding & Production (secondary - once trained and signed off)

  • Prepare and compound non-sterile topical medicines (creams, premixes) in line with approved master formulation records and SOPs
  • Operate compounding equipment (mixers, balances) according to defined parameters
  • Weigh and handle raw materials, including active ingredients, accurately using calibrated balances
  • Follow phase-based mixing sequences and API incorporation exactly as specified
  • Complete batch records contemporaneously, including actual weights and process steps
  • Support in-process checks for homogeneity and appearance ahead of pharmacist release
  • Follow gowning, hygiene and cleanroom entry requirements at all times

Progression: you'll start focused entirely on warehouse and dispatch duties. Cleanroom access follows structured induction, gowning training and supervised competency assessment before any independent compounding work - signed off by the Responsible Pharmacist or Superintendent Pharmacist. This is a paid progression, not a condition of the role.

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, healthcare operations or similar
  • High attention to detail (counts, batch numbers, labels, expiry dates, scanning accuracy)
  • Basic IT skills (email, spreadsheets, stock systems, label printing)
  • Reliable, organised and safety-focused
  • Good timekeeping
  • Willingness to train into cleanroom compounding and follow defined procedures without deviation

Desirable

  • Experience in pharmacy, dispensing or a regulated healthcare environment
  • Exposure to GMP/GDP or similarly regulated environments
  • Prior hands-on compounding, manufacturing or formulation experience
  • Comfortable working with potent active ingredients under PPE and COSHH controls

Working Conditions

  • Cleanroom duties require compliance with gowning, hygiene and health-declaration requirements (e.g. restrictions on acrylic/gel nails and jewellery)
  • You'll handle active ingredients whilst following PPE and COSHH controls
  • This role plays a key part in maintaining quality standards, batch traceability and inspection readiness at all times
  • Attractive salary offering early-stage opportunities at our new compounding facility
  • Participation in the company pension plan
  • Exclusive staff discounts on premium in-house products
  • Daily access to snacks and refreshments
  • Regular team and company social events
  • Full training provided for dispensing support responsibilities
  • Opportunities for advancement and development
