NQ Associate - Dispute Resolution Team

Maurice Turnor Gardner is a specialist private client law firm, advising individuals, families, trustees, family offices, charities and businesses both in the UK and internationally.

We are seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Associate to join our growing Disputes team.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, commercially minded and intellectually curious, with excellent technical, analytical and interpersonal skills. They will enjoy working collaboratively in a supportive team environment whilst taking responsibility for progressing matters and delivering outstanding client service.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside leading practitioners on a broad range of complex and high-value disputes, with a particular focus on contentious trusts and probate, and related private wealth litigation.

The types of work handled by the team include: challenges to the validity of wills, Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims, trustee, executor and beneficiary disputes, fiduciary, equitable and proprietary claims, applications relating to the administration of estates and trusts, and cross-border private wealth disputes.

You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers to:

• Manage and progress contentious trusts and estates matters.
• Assist with litigation and alternative dispute resolution procedures.
• Draft correspondence, pleadings, witness statements and court documents.
• Undertake legal research and provide practical advice.
• Build strong relationships with clients and professional advisers.
• Support business development and client relationship activities.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will:

• Be a qualified solicitor (or due to qualify shortly).
• Have experience in litigation, dispute resolution, private client or a related practice area.
• Possess excellent academic credentials.

• Demonstrate strong drafting, analytical, organisational and communication skills.

• Be proactive, collaborative and commercially aware.
• Have a genuine interest in private wealth disputes.
• Enjoy working collaboratively and building strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
