About the Role

As a Manager, Control Room, you will play a critical role in providing second line Conflicts of Interest and Control Room oversight across ANZ's international business operations.

The role is responsible for providing independent review, challenge and guidance on Conflicts of Interest risks arising from business activities and employee relationships, ensuring that conflicts are identified early, assessed consistently, mitigated appropriately and documented transparently. Working as part of a global team, you will support the ongoing development of a follow-the-sun operating model and provide oversight of conflicts management across ANZ's international footprint.

You will partner closely with stakeholders across Line 1, Legal, Compliance, Operational Risk and Internal Audit to strengthen ANZ's conduct culture, enhance controls and support compliance with applicable regulatory obligations.

What will your day look like?

As a Manager, Control Room, you will:

• Provide advice on compliance and regulatory requirements relating to the management of Conflicts of Interest.
• Review and assess conflicts of interest scenarios impacting ANZ, its customers and employees.
• Provide independent challenge over conflicts arising from business activities and employee personal conflicts of interest.
• Maintain the Conflicts of Interest Policy and related policies, standards and guidance.
• Lead thematic reviews relating to conflicts of interest.
• Produce committee-ready reporting and insights for Conduct Committees, Risk Committees, Executive Management, Divisional Risk Committees and Board Committees.
• Coordinate responses to Internal Audit and regulatory enquiries relating to Conflicts of Interest.
• Maintain Conflicts of Interest controls, including minimum evidence standards and approval frameworks.
• Support issue and incident management activities, including root cause analysis, remediation and sustainable control improvements.
• Partner with business and control functions to support strong conduct outcomes and effective risk management practices.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Extensive experience in Compliance, Conduct Risk (2LOD), Risk Assurance or Regulatory Advisory within banking.
• Deep expertise in Conflicts of Interest, including transactional and business conflicts, such as advisory versus financing, underwriting versus research, distribution and sales conflicts, and the management of Material Non-Public Information (MNPI) and information barriers.
• Strong understanding of personal conflicts of interest, including outside interests, close personal relationships and personal account dealing.
• Strong knowledge of UK and EU regulatory frameworks, including Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) and MiFID.
• Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks, including the Three Lines of Defence model, control design and testing, KRIs, risk appetite and remediation governance.
• Demonstrated ability to provide effective independent challenge and exercise sound judgement in complex situations.
• Experience reviewing and assessing conflicts of interest scenarios impacting customers, employees and the organisation.
• Experience maintaining and enhancing policies, standards, guidance and control frameworks within a regulated environment.
• Strong capability in conducting thematic reviews, identifying emerging risks and driving control improvements.
• Experience producing high-quality committee papers and reporting for senior management, divisional risk committees and Board forums.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage, influence and partner with senior leaders and stakeholders across business, risk and control functions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex regulatory obligations into clear, practical guidance and experience using compliance platforms and risk management toolkits.
