About the role

KPMG's Advisory capability supports organisations as they address strategic priorities, make informed commercial decisions and deliver significant transactions. Within Corporate Finance, you will join a growing team that advises UK and global clients on critical and sensitive equity and debt transactions.

You will work on the origination and execution of lead advisory mandates in the mid-market, specialising in technology, media and telecommunications. The role covers the full transaction lifecycle, from initial strategic review and market engagement to negotiation and successful completion, with a particular focus on sell-side transactions. You will collaborate with senior colleagues, junior team members, corporate clients, financial investors and entrepreneurs while helping the practice build on its sector expertise and market credentials.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Manage mergers and acquisitions projects from planning to completion, with support from and reporting to an Associate Director, Director or Partner.
  • Act as the day-to-day client contact, coordinating stakeholders and maintaining clear communication throughout each phase of the transaction.
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality marketing documents, pitch materials and client proposals that support successful transaction outcomes.
  • Direct analysts and other junior colleagues on live transactions, review their work and provide clear guidance to maintain quality and momentum.
  • Coach junior team members and contribute to their technical and professional development through practical feedback and knowledge sharing.
  • Set, monitor and control project budgets, billing and reporting requirements to support effective commercial management.
  • Identify and resolve transaction issues by applying sound financial, analytical and strategic judgement.
  • Contribute to business development by building market relationships, identifying opportunities and supporting pitches for new work.

Experience and skills needed

  • Relevant corporate finance experience gained within an investment bank, property consultancy, professional services firm, mid-tier advisory firm or private equity firm.
  • A demonstrable record of executing transactions across the deal lifecycle, from origination to completion, including sell-side transactions.
  • Experience managing complex projects, priorities and stakeholders across simultaneous assignments with demanding deadlines.
  • Experience producing and reviewing transaction materials, financial models and analysis, including leveraged buyout and discounted cash flow analysis.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and strategic thinking skills, with evidence of identifying issues and contributing practical solutions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with experience building trusted relationships with clients, colleagues and market contacts.
