Job Summary

An inventory manager oversees our stock levels, coordinates procurement, and optimizes storage to meet user needs. He manages the entire supply cycle, he monitors our finish sugar, molasses stock and manages the weighbridge functions (Cane and finish sugar weighbridges)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership role within the material management department. Supervising, hiring and training warehouse staff and inventory clerks.
  • Review the daily queue of submitted purchase requisitions (PR) Verify details such as quantity, specifications and estimated costs.
  • Perform budget checks, ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, and verify if items are already in stock.
  • Reduce inventory cost. This is by identifying overstock situations and optimizing reorder points.
  • Stock planning and forecasting, inventory control and auditing.
  • Evaluate incoming requests for clarity, justification and budget adherence.
  • Report: Stock count, daily, weekly, monthly and annual stock count activities.
  • Warehouse & storage oversight functions.

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

  • Minimum of B.Sc. in Science, or Engineering
  • Any relevant professional certification is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 10 Years’ hands-on experience in Inventory management in a manufacturing industry.
