Location: Cromwell Hospital, Kensington, London

Contract: Permanent – Hybrid with a minimum of 3 Days per week on-site

Reports to: People Director, Bupa Health Services

As the senior strategic people partner you will be a vital member of the Hospital Executive Team. You'll shape the people agenda that supports high-quality patient care, strengthens leadership capability and helps create an environment where colleagues can do their best work. Working closely with senior leaders across Cromwell and Bupa, you'll influence major decisions, drive positive change and help build a culture where people and performance thrive together.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the hospital's People & Culture Plan, aligned to wider Bupa Health Services priorities.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to the Hospital Chief Executive and Executive Team, bringing a clear people perspective to business decisions.
  • Lead workforce planning, helping the hospital build the skills, capability and capacity needed for the future.
  • Use workforce, operational and financial data to identify opportunities and support informed decision making.
  • Drive organisational effectiveness through structure, role clarity and operating model improvements.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen culture, inclusion, engagement and leadership capability.
  • Support succession planning and talent development, helping build strong internal leadership pipelines.
  • Shape attraction, recruitment and retention strategies, particularly for specialist and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Provide oversight of complex employee relations matters and people-related risks.
  • Make sure people practices remain legally compliant and aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead key annual people processes including performance reviews, pay reviews, talent planning and engagement activity.
  • Build strong relationships across clinical, operational and corporate teams to deliver shared goals.
  • Lead and develop the People team, creating a high-performing and supportive environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant senior HR leadership experience within healthcare or another complex, highly regulated environment.
  • Credible experience operating as part of an executive or senior leadership team and influencing at executive level.
  • A strong track record of delivering people strategies that improve culture, workforce outcomes and organisational performance.
  • Expertise across workforce planning, organisation design, employee relations, talent management and change leadership.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience using people and business data to shape decisions.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams within matrix organisations.
  • A good understanding of how workforce, leadership, quality and patient outcomes are connected.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent senior-level HR experience.
