The bit about us

Welcome to The Arding Rooms, our beautiful private members' club in the heart of Clapham Junction, set within the iconic, newly restored Arding & Hobbs building.

Think Art Deco glamour, stunning interiors, exceptional hospitality and a members' club where people genuinely feel at home.

We're looking for a Club Host who understands that great hospitality is about more than a warm welcome. It's about remembering the little things, building relationships and making every member feels special.

A few practical bits

  • Pay: £15.50 per hour (including service)
  • Hours: Approximately 45 hours per week
  • Contract: Variable
  • Shifts: A mixture of days and evenings, predominantly evenings and weekends
  • Location: Clapham Junction

What you'll be doing

As the face of The Arding Rooms, you'll play a big part in creating the warm, personal experience our members have come to expect.

  • Delivering an exceptional, personalised welcome to every member and guest.
  • Getting to know our members, their preferences and even their four-legged friends!
  • Taking pride in the Club's presentation and atmosphere.
  • Managing restaurant and meeting room bookings, enquiries and Club communications.
  • Event RSVP tracking, generate QR codes and assist with event collateral (menus, name cards, etc)
  • Supporting our sales and membership teams to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Being a positive, trusted presence that members and colleagues can rely on.

The bit about you

We're looking for someone who really understands high-end hospitality, with the personality and natural warmth to match.

You'll be someone who:

  • Has experience in a premium hospitality environment, ideally a private members' club, luxury hotel or high-end restaurant.
  • Loves people and has a natural ability to build rapport and put others at ease.
  • Has exceptionally high standards and a genuine sense of ownership.
  • Notices the small details and knows how to make an experience memorable.
  • Is confident, organised and proactive, with a calm approach when things get busy.

Above all, you genuinely care. About the members, your colleagues and doing a great job.

Why x+why?

We want people to enjoy coming to work. Even on Mondays.

You'll be joining a close-knit team led by an awesome GM who leads from the front, genuinely cares and always makes time to support the team.

We take our hospitality seriously, but not ourselves! Expect a supportive team, a pretty incredible working environment and opportunities to learn, grow and build a career you can be proud of.

What next?

If this sounds like your kind of place, we'd love to hear from you!

Simply upload your CV and tell us a little about yourself. No need for a lengthy, AI-polished cover letter. We'd much rather hear about you in your own voice and what makes you tick.

And in return? We promise your application will be reviewed by a real-life human.

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
