About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in the Romford area. In this role, you will provide vital support to individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain their dignity, comfort, and independence.
Operating on a zero-hours contract, this position offers excellent flexibility, allowing you to pick up shifts that fit around your lifestyle and existing commitments. Whether you are looking for early mornings, late evenings, or weekend work, this role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful difference while managing your own schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assisting clients with their daily routines, including washing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Medication Support: Prompting or safely administering medication in strict accordance with individualised care plans.
- Meal Preparation: Helping prepare nutritious meals and ensuring clients are adequately hydrated throughout the day.
- Companionship & Wellbeing: Providing emotional support, engaging in friendly conversation, and identifying any changes in a client's health or wellbeing to report back to the management team.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate, detailed, and up-to-date daily care logs.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: Familiarity with assisted living, nursing home environments, or specialized care for Alzheimer's and dementia patients is highly preferred. However, no prior experience is required if you have a background in retail, hospitality, or simply a strong desire to enter the care giving field, those transferable skills are highly valuable.
- Skills: Strong communication skills (written and verbal), a hospitable demeanour, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Relevant skills such as first aid and medication administration are beneficial.
- Requirements: Successful applicants will be required to hold or undertake an Enhanced DBS Check. Essential care certificates are preferred, though full training will be provided.
