Global Maritime
Who are we?
Global Maritime is a leading marine, offshore, and engineering consultancy that offers intellectually stimulating work within a deeply collaborative culture and with uniquely supportive leadership. This environment creates a culture where talented professionals truly thrive. At the heart of what we do are extraordinary challenges. We directly contribute to unique, often world-first projects on the global stage. We are driven by a vibrant culture of innovation, including dedicated R&D, advanced in-house software, and the freedom to develop your own ideas. This rapid exposure across the entire spectrum of marine, offshore, and engineering consultancy accelerates your expertise like nowhere else.
Welcoming you to our team:
Our E &S team supports clients across offshore renewables, decommissioning, subsea oil and gas, and other marine infrastructure projects by providing specialist engineering and software engineering expertise that helps maximise value while minimising project risk. Continued growth in offshore renewable energy developments, larger project scales, and expansion into deeper waters is driving innovation across our E & S offering.
Based in any of our UK offices (London, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Newcastle) you will join a highly motivated team of E & S specialists and benefit from extensive training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing opportunities from experienced professionals across multiple disciplines. Reporting into the E & S team leadership structure, you will have the opportunity to get involved in E & S business stream projects and contribute to a diverse portfolio of offshore projects with a strong focus on energy developments.
The team plays an integral role in offshore projects of all sizes, from early-stage site investigations and concept development through to detailed design and project execution. This role would suit a naval architect or marine engineering student who is eager to develop their technical capability across a broad range of disciplines while contributing to innovative offshore projects around the world.
What does success look like in this position?
In this role, success means becoming a trusted and dependable contributor to geoscience consultancy projects, consistently delivering high-quality work that meets technical, commercial, and client expectations. You will effectively support the delivery of engineering desk studies, integrated models, interpretative reports, risk assessments, and other marine engineering studies while actively learning from senior colleagues and applying new knowledge to increasingly complex projects.
You will confidently contribute to helping clients make informed decisions regarding offshore developments. Success also means supporting the planning and management of laboratory testing programmes, participating in offshore survey activities, and assisting with assessments for offshore structures including jack-ups and fixed and floating wind turbine generators.
You will build strong technical report writing capabilities, communicate clearly with colleagues and clients, and demonstrate curiosity and initiative when solving engineering challenges. As your experience develops, you will contribute to finite element modelling, support software and tool development initiatives, work collaboratively across multiple E & S disciplines, and actively support business development and marketing activities that strengthen Global Maritime’s position in the market.
Ultimately, success in this position is demonstrated by your growth into a versatile E & S professional who contributes positively to team performance, delivers valuable technical solutions, and supports the continued expansion of the business stream.
How you make an impact:
As our Graduate Engineer - E & S, you will make a significant impact by supporting the delivery of engineering and software services that enable clients to safely and efficiently plan, design, and install offshore infrastructure. Your work will contribute directly to reducing project uncertainty, managing risks, and developing practical engineering solutions for complex offshore environments.
You will help create robust models, interpret data, support site investigation activities, and contribute to design and assessment work for renewable energy and offshore infrastructure projects. Through your involvement in technical analyses, reporting, and project delivery activities, you will help ensure that clients receive reliable and technically sound recommendations that support successful project outcomes.
Your contributions will support the continued growth of the E & S business stream through effective collaboration with colleagues across multiple disciplines, participation in innovation and capability development initiatives, and the maintenance of high technical standards across all deliverables. You will also support the improvement of engineering tools and software, contribute to marketing and business development activities, and help strengthen relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
By developing your technical expertise and working collaboratively across the wider business, you will play an important role in enhancing Global Maritime’s reputation as a trusted provider of marine offshore consultancy services while supporting the organisation’s long-term growth strategy.
Your starting point when you join:
- Degree in Maritime Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong understanding of maritime and naval architecture - engineering principles.
- Graduate-level experience or early career experience within maritime engineering, naval architecture, or offshore experience.
- Postgraduate qualifications in maritime engineering, naval architecture, or engineering geology would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of maritime engineering or naval architecture analysis tools and software.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong technical report writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage priorities effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Willingness to participate in offshore assignments in the role of Offshore Client Representative would be desirable.
- Commitment to operating within the responsibilities of the role while following Global Maritime compliance requirements, ethical standards, and company values.
