Foreman (Luton)

The Team

JSM Group delivers critical infrastructure across the UK’s power and communications networks. You’ll join our Power Operations team, which delivers power network services for major clients. The team puts safety and good delivery first, and works closely together to find practical solutions. As Foreman, you’ll run operations at site level, keep work compliant with our safety policies and help every job land well.

Scope Of Role

You’ll lead field crews responding to utility faults, service interruptions and customer service works, making sure each job is handled safely, quickly and efficiently. You’ll keep work compliant with safety, quality and regulatory standards, and help us maintain a reliable service that keeps customers satisfied.

How You’ll Succeed

• Lead and supervise faults and services crews on both emergency and planned works

• Coordinate fault diagnosis, isolation, repair and service reinstatement

• Make sure work meets technical standards, work procedures and regulatory requirements

• Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and network and service plans

• Work with control rooms, supervisors and other departments to prioritise and schedule jobs

• Complete job documentation, reports and asset records accurately

What It Takes

• Fault-finding strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

• Technical knowledge a sound understanding of utility networks, assets and service connections

• Leadership you can lead a crew and coordinate work across the team

• Safety awareness a high standard of safety awareness and risk management

• Communication clear communication and good customer service skills

• Composure you stay effective under pressure and respond well in emergencies

• Reporting basic IT skills for completing reports and records

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent experience in utilities (e.g. electrical, mechanical, civil, water, gas or telecoms)

• Proven experience in faults, maintenance or service operations in a utilities environment

• Valid driving licence (relevant vehicle class as required)

• Relevant safety and compliance certifications, depending on the work (e.g. First Aid, confined spaces, working at height, HV/LV awareness)

• Previous supervisory or leading hand experience (preferred)
