Gen Re UK has an excellent opportunity for a Financial

Accountant based in London. The Finance team is one of Gen Re's global teams which

supports all of the Gen Re companies in London, including Faraday.

Main Purpose of the RoleWorking as an integral part

of the London Finance Team we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented

qualified accountant to join our finance team, initially focused on the

management of us as a Lloyd's member and the preparation of management and statutory accounts across the Faraday Holdings

Group and subsidiaries/branches, but also to provide assistance with the timely

and accurate preparation of management reporting, and regulatory reporting

across the Gen Re group companies managed by the London Finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of a wide

range of information and reporting completed by the team.

  • Prepare and

submit accurate and compliant statutory financial statements for Faraday

Holdings Group including its subsidiaries/branches entities in accordance

with UK GAAP, Lloyd’s standards or other applicable accounting standards.

  • Ensure

compliance with Lloyd’s regulations and governance frameworks.

  • Oversee

the reconciliation and management of the corporate member assets and

corporate member and managing agent responsibilities to Lloyd's including

acting as a key liaison with Lloyd’s, custodians, and internal

stakeholders on fund-related matters.

  • Coordinate

with external auditors, ensuring accurate and timely completion of audits

and resolution of queries.

  • Uphold

robust financial controls and contribute to continuous improvement of

finance processes.

  • Contribute

to finance transformation projects, system enhancements, and process

automation.

  • Extract data from source systems, applying appropriate adjustments

transparently and providing outputs and analysis to support the submission

of Information.

  • Maintain and develop control checks to ensure workings are consistent and

accurate with underlying data.

  • Recording

and inputting financial data in SAP (GL Package).

  • Ensure all information and returns are prepared in a timely manner and

complete for review.

  • Remain up to date with changes in reporting regimes and assist with the

implementation of such changes.

  • Liaise with both internal and external clients.
  • Prepare ad-hoc additional returns as and when required and involvement in

ad hoc projects where necessary.

  • In

addition to the duties listed, the jobholder is required to perform other

reasonable duties (within the jobholders’ capabilities) assigned by line

management.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Full ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualification desirable but not essential.

  • Previous

experience of producing financial statements and liaising with auditors on

technical points of detail.

  • Previous

experience of preparing management accounts.

  • Strong

technical knowledge of UK GAAP and accounting principles.

  • Strong

analytical skills with the ability to manipulate data whilst paying

particular attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Must be highly

organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities and operate

various applications to meet tight deadlines.

  • Good written

and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability

to work in a team environment. Approachable and able to convey information, ideas and viewpoints in an

appropriate manner.

  • Self-motivated

and willing to learn.
