About the role
English National Ballet is seeking a Finance Officer to join our Finance team and support the delivery of an efficient, accurate and responsive finance service across the organisation. This varied role offers exposure to a broad range of transactional and financial accounting activities, contributing to the effective operation of financial processes, controls and reporting while supporting areas including accounts payable, cash management, reconciliations and wider finance operations.
Working closely with colleagues across ENB, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their finance expertise and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes and ways of working.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of an efficient, accurate and responsive finance service across English National Ballet.
- Manage accounts payable and employee expenses, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and in line with organisational procedures.
- Support a range of finance activities including banking, cash management, accounts receivable and financial administration.
- Prepare reconciliations and supporting schedules, investigating and resolving discrepancies where required.
- Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including journal postings and financial reporting activities.
- Provide information and documentation to support audits, compliance requirements and statutory reporting.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues, suppliers and other stakeholders, delivering a professional and responsive service.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance systems, processes and ways of working, including involvement in projects and change initiatives.
Key Selection Criteria
- Experience working with financial information and finance-related processes, with the ability to use Excel confidently to support day-to-day financial activities, and to develop that ability further as needed for the Finance function
- Ability to learn new processes, workflows and develop a good understanding the key requirements and deliverables
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload in order to manage volume and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail with accurate data entry and checking
- Ability to build positive working relationships with suppliers and other internal and external contacts
