Finance Business Partner - Reinsurance Solutions

Are you a Finance Business Partner who can turn financial data into meaningful commercial insight? Do you enjoy partnering with senior leaders to influence decisions and improve business performance?

We are hiring a FBP to join the team on a 12 month fixed term contract supporting our Reinsurance Solutions business.

This is a hybrid role based in our London office, with the flexibility to work in the office and at home!

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

As the key interface between Finance and the Reinsurance business, you will play a central role in month-end reporting, budgeting, planning and forecasting, while partnering with senior executives to influence the business agenda and support informed decision making.

A core part of the role will be reviewing and interpreting reporting from the EMEA Finance Centre, analysing results and translating financial information into clear, forward-looking insight that helps leaders understand performance, risks and opportunities.

You will also:

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with senior leaders across Reinsurance, acting as a trusted adviser on financial performance and business decisions.
  • Provide strategic analysis, forward-looking guidance and constructive challenge to annual and longer-term business plans.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide regular updates on key financial measures, business initiatives, risks and opportunities.
  • Review and interpret reporting from the EMEA Finance Centre, clearly communicating the story behind the results to Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
  • Develop meaningful performance measures, trend analysis and operational insights to support the commercial development of the business.
  • Partner with the EMEA Finance Centre and wider Finance teams to deliver high-quality reporting, analysis and financial insight.
  • Support the month-end close, budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring reporting meets the needs of local, regional and global stakeholders.
  • Help ensure the business follows revenue recognition requirements and maintains effective financial controls.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across Finance processes, reporting and ways of working.
  • Coach and support Finance colleagues within the EMEA Finance Centre, helping them develop their knowledge and capabilities.

How this opportunity is different

This is an opportunity to work with our Reinsurance Solutions business, partnering closely with senior leaders and using financial insight to help shape commercial decisions and business performance!

You will work within a global, matrixed environment, collaborating with UK, regional and global stakeholders, including the EMEA Finance Centre in Krakow. In this role, you will have the opportunity to look beyond the numbers, bring together financial and operational insight and help leaders understand the story behind performance.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Proven experience in a Finance Business Partnering role within a complex or matrixed organisation.
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness, with experience across management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial controls.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate clear, actionable insight to senior Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
  • Confidence influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders while building trusted working relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced Excel capability, including financial modelling and data analysis.
  • Experience within financial services, insurance, reinsurance or another regulated environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Experience working across different countries, cultures or shared service environments would also be advantageous.
