Events and Enrichment Coordinator

Location: The University of Huddersfield - London Campus, Stratford, Greater London (On-Site)
Salary: up to £35,000 per annum
The Events and Enrichment Coordinator will play a role in enhancing the student experience through the development, organisation, and delivery of a diverse programme of enrichment activities, student-led clubs and societies, sports opportunities, volunteering initiatives, and institutional events.
The post holder will support student engagement, leadership and community-building by helping to create opportunities for students to connect, participate and develop skills beyond the curriculum. They will work on the planning and delivery of key student events, clubs and societies and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to foster an inclusive, vibrant, and engaging campus community.
The post holder will report to the Senior Events and Enrichment Coordinator. The post holder will work in matrix structure and need to build strong working relationships within the Student Experience Team, central Study Group teams and the university partner to ensure the smooth running of the Centre.
About The Role
Data Management
- Organise support and implement a varied programme of student enrichment activities that enhance the overall student experience.
- Support the establishment, growth and sustainability of student clubs, societies, sports clubs, and other student-led initiatives.
- Ensure Study Group policies and standard operating procedures are followed
Events Management
- Work on the planning, promotion, and delivery of a calendar of student-facing and institutional events.
- Work on the organisation of events including:
- Welcome and induction activities
- Student enrichment and social events
- Clubs, Societies and Sporting events
- Student leadership and development programmes
- Cultural and religious celebrations
- Graduation ceremonies
- Ensure events are delivered professionally, safely, inclusively and within budget.
Clubs and Societies
Under the direction of the Student Experience and Operations Director and the Senior Events and Enrichment Coordinator, design, organise and run the enrichment, social, clubs, societies and sporting function at the London Campus, to include:
- Recruit, train, and support student representatives and club committee members.
- Build strong relationships with clubs and societies, providing strategic guidance and operational support.
- Develop new clubs, societies, and enrichment opportunities in response to student interests.
- Support clubs and societies to secure funding through grants, sponsorship, and fundraising initiatives.
- Manage equipment inventories and resources associated with student activities.
- Monitor participation, engagement, and student feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements, risk assessments, and relevant policies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance the overall student experience.
- Develop initiatives that promote inclusion, belonging, and student engagement.
- Maintain and regularly review the Clubs and Societies Handbook, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
General
- Be a key point of contact for all students.
- Support with duties on reception areas and deal professionally and promptly with student enquiries and requests for support, fostering positive relationships with the student body.
- Foster productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Any other duties as required by the Director of Student Experience and Operations or Head of School
About You
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience demonstrating ability to work and think independently.
- Experience of leading and developing sports clubs and societies in the higher education sector.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise workload, problem-solve and work both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and student success.
- Knowledge of health and safety considerations in sport or event delivery
- Supporting students in an educational context
- Working to develop, build and maintain the Student Experience
- Working in a regulated environment
Desirable
- Ability to use data or feedback to improve participation and programmes.
- Relevant qualification in events management or project management.
