About the Role
The Employee Relations Partner serves as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on all matters related to workplace conduct, conflict, and compliance. This role owns the end-to-end employee relations caseload — leading impartial investigations, coaching leaders through complex people issues, and ensuring the organization's policies and practices are fair, consistent, and legally sound. The ideal candidate combines deep employment-law knowledge with strong judgment, discretion, and the interpersonal skill to de-escalate sensitive situations and build trust across all levels of the organization.
What You’ll be Doing
- Manage complex ER casework and operational escalations. This includes investigating complex employee matters and policy violations in line with local laws and regulations.
- Advise leaders and HRBPs on performance management, grievances, disciplinary action and other sensitive matters.
- Partner with the People Partners and Employment Legal to design fair, consistent performance management frameworks tailored to local labour standards.
- Guide the localisation of global People and ER policies so they comply with regional labour legislation, local practices and regulatory frameworks while staying aligned with core company principles.
- Build effective partnerships across the EMEA region. Maintain clear intake, governance and operating processes for ER matters.
- Establish governance frameworks to monitor and audit statutory employment compliance in the UK and other EMEA countries as needed.
- Develop repeatable playbooks, operating procedures and compliance checklists.
- Build and deliver training and coaching programmes for managers. Topics include effective performance management, navigating difficult conversations, labour law compliance, and the local practices and cultural expectations of managing teams across regions.
- Use data to identify ER trends and get ahead of them through preventative training and improvements to systems and processes.
- Support the Global Employee Relations team on initiatives and global cases.
About You (Skills / Qualifications)
- 8+ years of dedicated Employee Relations, Labour Relations and/or Employment Law experience in a multinational or high-growth environment. This includes extensive experience managing complex, sensitive matters across multiple EMEA countries.
- A track record of independently conducting sensitive, multi-jurisdictional investigations and preparing robust documentation and findings.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, ER practices and country-specific consultation requirements across EMEA, including deep practical knowledge of UK employment legislation and regulatory compliance.
- Experience developing and implementing ER practices, guidelines and procedures that ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Proven experience building trusted partnerships with HRBPs, Employment Legal, business leaders, employee representatives and other stakeholders, and delivering clear, pragmatic recommendations.
- A strong background in coaching and training international leaders, particularly US-based managers, on managing teams and navigating performance issues in the region.
- A track record of building programmes from the ground up, defining roadmaps, setting OKRs and operating with high autonomy in ambiguous, fast-scaling environments.
- The ability to prioritise and manage numerous simultaneous projects under deadline pressure.
- Experience mentoring and supporting team members.
