Are you an experienced Higher Education Registry professional ready to take the next step into a senior leadership role?

LCCA is looking for a Deputy Registrar to support the leadership and delivery of high-quality Registry services across programme administration, assessments, student records and data, academic governance, timetabling and wider student administration.

This is a key leadership opportunity to strengthen services, systems and controls while supporting the Head of Registry Services in ensuring Registry operations deliver an excellent student experience and meet academic, regulatory and institutional requirements.

About LCCA

London College of Contemporary Arts is a dynamic Higher Education provider specialising in creative, business and contemporary education.

We are committed to delivering an inclusive, career-focused student experience that combines academic learning with the skills and experience students need for their future careers.

As LCCA continues to grow, strong, scalable and student-focused professional services are central to our success.

About the Role

As Deputy Registrar, you will support the leadership and day-to-day management of a broad, multi-functional Registry operation across LCCA’s London sites.

You will help oversee the student lifecycle from programme administration and enrolment through to assessment, progression and academic outcomes, ensuring services are accurate, efficient, compliant and consistently delivered.

Working closely with the Head of Registry Services, senior leadership, academic teams, Quality and external partners, you’ll also play a key role in improving systems, data, reporting and operational processes.

You will deputise for the Head of Registry Services where required, providing senior-level advice and ensuring continuity of leadership across Registry operations.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Support the leadership and effective delivery of Registry and student administration services.
  • Deputise for the Head of Registry Services as required and provide senior Registry advice across the institution.
  • Oversee key student lifecycle processes including enrolment, registration, progression, assessment and completion.
  • Ensure assessment processes and boards are secure, accurate, fair, timely and auditable.
  • Support the effective management of student records, Registry systems and data quality, integrity and governance.
  • Contribute to statutory and regulatory reporting, management information, dashboards and institutional reporting requirements.
  • Support timetabling and academic administration to enable effective teaching and assessment delivery.
  • Ensure Registry operations meet the requirements of the OfS, validating partners, OIA, CMA and UKVI, where applicable.
  • Support academic governance, collaborative provision and validating-partner requirements.
  • Lead and contribute to Registry systems development, implementation, integration and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain effective operational controls, risk management and data protection practices.
  • Lead, manage and develop Registry colleagues, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance on academic regulations, policies and complex student administration matters.
  • Build strong relationships across academic and professional services and with external stakeholders and partners.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Higher Education professional with significant experience across Registry or student administration services.

You’ll combine strong operational knowledge with excellent leadership and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to manage complex Registry activity and support teams through growth, change and service improvement.

You will be comfortable interpreting academic regulations, working with student data and systems, collaborating across academic and professional services, and ensuring Registry services remain accurate, compliant and student-focused.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Significant experience within Registry, student administration or a comparable HE professional service.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Higher Education student administration, including enrolment, assessment, progression and completion.

  • Good understanding of OfS requirements, student data, consumer protection and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience managing or supervising teams within Registry or student administration.
  • Strong understanding of student record systems, data governance and management information.
  • Experience contributing to systems implementation, process redesign and service improvement.
  • Experience working effectively with academic departments, Quality and other professional services teams.
  • Ability to interpret regulations, policies and procedures and provide clear and practical advice.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage complex and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A strong commitment to delivering an excellent student experience.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate or professional qualification in Higher Education administration, management, governance or a related area.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as the Association of University Administrators (AUA).
  • Experience of validating-partner and collaborative-provision arrangements.
  • Experience supporting Registry services through significant institutional growth or change.
  • Experience of student record system development or implementation.

Why Join LCCA?

  • Take on a key leadership role within a growing Higher Education institution.
  • Help shape the future direction of Registry and student administration services.
  • Support services that have a direct impact on the student experience, progression and academic outcomes.
  • Drive improvements across systems, data, reporting and processes.
  • Work closely with senior leadership, academic teams, Quality and external partners.
  • Develop your leadership experience within a broad and evolving Registry function.
