Customer Success Lead, UK Education
Kanpla
About Kanpla
Kanpla is software for contract caterers. Ordering apps, POS and self-service kiosks, tray scanners and digital signage all come together on one platform.
What started as a school project now serves more than 800,000 users across 5,000+ locations in 14 countries. We work with operators including Compass Group, Aramark, ISS, WSH, Thomas Franks and Bennett Hay, and we are a team of more than 65 people.
How we work:
- We grow fast and set high targets.
- We care about product detail, because caterers use what we build every service.
- We like food service and want people who are curious about how it works.
- We decide quickly, learn from mistakes and fix things fast.
- We are one team across several countries and spend time together at off-sites twice a year.
Own Kanpla's work with UK education caterers
The UK is Kanpla's largest market, and education is a big part of it. Our education customers are caterers who run food in hundreds of schools each. Pupils, parents and school staff use Kanpla every day to order, pay for and collect their meals.
We are hiring a Customer Success Lead to own and grow this portfolio. You will be the main contact for our education clients, set the agenda with their senior teams and shape how Kanpla looks after schools as we grow. You will report to the head of our customer success team.
The role
A single caterer may run hundreds of schools, each with its own systems, staff and parents. Every school needs to go live smoothly and keep getting value from Kanpla.
You will keep the whole picture together: account health, risks, growth, open projects and key stakeholders. You will run business reviews with senior people at caterers, work with our Delivery team to take groups of schools live on plan, and work with Product on what schools need next, including integrations with school management systems and payment providers.
The role suits someone who wants ownership and enjoys building how things are done, not only running an existing process.
What you will do
- Own a portfolio of UK education clients, with responsibility for retention, growth and account health.
- Run business reviews, success plans and governance with senior stakeholders at caterers.
- Lead large projects and rollouts with Delivery, so programmes of schools go live on plan.
- Drive adoption across schools, so caterers, parents and staff get value from Kanpla.
- Use data to spot risks and opportunities early.
- Bring the customer voice into Product, including integrations with school systems.
- Visit clients and schools across the UK.
- Write and improve our education playbook, so what works gets repeated.
What success looks like
After three months, you have a clear view of every account: health, risks, growth, open projects and key stakeholders. Clients see you as their main contact.
After six months, you lead the key conversations and set the agenda in reviews. Big projects and rollouts land on plan, and satisfaction among client admins is going up. The education playbook is written and in use.
What you will bring
- Five or more years in customer success or account management, owning retention across a portfolio of customers.
- Experience at a growing software company serving operators or institutions, for example in edtech, foodtech or hospitality technology.
- Experience leading large projects, multi-site implementations or rollouts.
- Confidence with senior stakeholders, and examples of changing a client's plan, not just reporting on it.
- Something you set up from scratch: a process, a playbook, a team or a new region.
- Comfort with software and data. You do not need to code.
- Happy to travel to client and school sites across the UK.
Useful additional experience
It would be helpful, but is not essential, if you have:
- Worked with UK schools, for example in school catering, school payments, school management systems or school edtech.
- Run projects involving MIS data sync, user management or parent payments with technology partners.
- Worked in contract catering or food service.
We will help you learn the sector. If the core of the role fits, we would like to hear from you even if you do not match every point.
What Kanpla offers
- A senior role with real ownership in a growing international company.
- A product that improves school meals and reduces food waste.
- A competitive salary based on experience.
- Hybrid working, with the option to work from our London Bridge office.
- Two company off-sites or workcations each year.
- Close work with our Delivery, Product and leadership teams.
- Room to grow as our UK education business scales.

If you want to own how Kanpla works with UK schools and the caterers who feed them, we would like to hear from you.
