Role

As a Credit Risk Analyst, you will join our Analytics team, supporting the

development, testing and monitoring of strategies that balance risk and commercial

outcomes across the lending lifecycle. The role sits at the intersection of credit risk,

fraud and pricing, and requires a strong grasp of the economics behind lending

decisions and the risk controls around them. Your focus will typically start in one

area, credit risk, fraud, or pricing, and you'll build outward from there.

Need to haves:• Strong problem-solving skills and a structured, analytical approach to

working through ambiguous questions.

  • Relevant experience within lending, in at least one of: credit risk analytics or

pricing.

  • Working proficiency in Python and/or SQL, and confident use of Excel.
  • Comfortable working with a range of data sources.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical

audiences.

  • Comfortable working independently, taking ownership of tasks and asking

good questions when something is unclear.

  • Curiosity and a genuine interest in developing into a broader strategy analyst

over time.

Nice to haves:

  • Exposure to pricing strategy or modelling.
  • Experience with Tableau or a similar data visualisation tool.
  • Awareness of the UK consumer credit market and FCA regulations, in

particular CONC.

  • Familiarity with credit bureau data (Experian, TransUnion, Equifax).

Support the development, testing and monitoring of credit, fraud or pricingstrategies, working with credit bureau, internal and market data to

understand risk, return and performance drivers.

  • Analyse the commercial impact of strategy and pricing decisions, helping to

understand the trade-off between risk, volume and margin.

  • Carry out regular data extraction, analysis and reporting to track whether

strategies and the portfolio are performing against both risk and commercial

expectations, flagging where they are not and helping to identify why.

  • Assist with the implementation of strategy changes across acquisition

channels, working alongside more senior analysts and managers to

understand the rationale and expected impact.

  • Investigate performance trends and anomalies, working through problems

methodically and presenting findings clearly.

  • Build working knowledge across credit, fraud and pricing over time, taking on

stretch pieces in adjacent areas as capability develops.

  • Support ad hoc analysis requests from across the business, translating

questions into structured, data-led answers.

  • Keep up to date with emerging market trends and industry practice,

including external benchmarking and independent reading
