At Cancer Research UK, our marketing, fundraising and engagement activity is most effective when it is rooted in a deep understanding of what matters to our audiences. That's where the Consumer Insight and Experience (CIX) team comes in.

We're looking for a Consumer Insight and Experience Manager to join our Data, Insight and Performance (DIP) directorate on an 8-month fixed-term contract covering an internal secondment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced researcher to play a pivotal role in ensuring decisions across Marketing, Fundraising and Engagement (MFE) are informed by robust consumer insight and a strong understanding of audience needs, motivations and experiences.

Working alongside the Senior Managers in the Consumer Insight and Experience team, you'll lead insight projects to understand the attitudes and behaviors of our audiences and translate insight into actionable recommendations to inform proposition development and strategies.

You'll combine strong research expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills, and ability to translate evidence into compelling recommendations that influence decision-making across the organisation.

If you're passionate about uncovering what matters most to audiences, and helping an organisation make smarter, more audience-centric decisions, we'd love to hear from you.

What will I be doing?

As Consumer Insight and Experience Manager, you'll manage and deliver a range of qualitative and quantitative research projects, ensuring stakeholders have the insight they need to make informed decisions.

You'll:

  • Manage in-house and commissioned end-to-end quantitative and qualitative insight projects from brief through to delivery and implementation.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, helping them understand their insight requirements and ambitions
  • Translate complex findings into clear and actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate across Data, Insight and Performance teams to provide joined up delivery and understanding of insight
  • Manage and optimise package of insight products and tools, including tracking programmes and our Supporter Panel.
  • Manage external research agencies, budgets, timelines and quality standards.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for a curious, commercially-minded insight professional who combines strong technical research skills with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders.

You'll bring:

  • Extensive experience delivering qualitative and quantitative market research.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Consumer focused, strategic and analytical mindset
  • Collaborative working style
  • Ability to translate data into strategic and actionable recommendations
  • Strong project management experience, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; SPSS advantageous.

Our organisation values are designed to guide all that we do.

Act with ambition, courage and determination

Credible: Act with rigour and professionalism

Human: Act to have a positive impact on people

Together: Act inclusively and collaboratively

What will I gain?

We create a working environment that supports your wellbeing and provide a generous benefits package, a wide range of career and personal development opportunities and high-quality tools.
