MerQube

LondonHybridFull Time2-5 years
Posted 5 hours ago

Company Overview

MerQube is a technology-driven index provider specializing in the design, calculation, and administration of innovative indices used across a range of financial products and investment strategies. As we continue to grow our global client base, we are looking for a client-focused individual to join our Client Services team in either New York or London.

This role offers broad exposure to our clients, products, and internal teams and is an opportunity to develop into a client-facing account management role within a growing financial technology firm.

The Role

The Client Services Associate will support and increasingly take ownership of client relationships throughout their lifecycle with MerQube. You will develop a strong understanding of your clients, their businesses, the projects they are working on, and how they use MerQube's indices and services.

You will work directly with clients and partner closely with Sales, Legal, Index Production, Product, Finance, and other internal teams to manage contracting, onboarding, launches, reporting, and ongoing client needs. You will also maintain visibility into the sales pipeline, helping ensure prospective opportunities are accurately tracked and that the Client Services team is prepared for upcoming client and project activity.

As you develop your knowledge of our business and client base, you will take on greater responsibility for the day-to-day management of assigned accounts, becoming a trusted point of contact for both the client and internal stakeholders.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys combining relationship management with execution: understanding what a client is trying to accomplish, keeping multiple workstreams moving, solving problems, and making sure the details behind the relationship are handled well.

Client Account Management

  • Develop a strong understanding of assigned clients, their businesses, key stakeholders, current projects, and use of MerQube indices and services.
  • Build relationships with client contacts and serve as an increasingly independent point of contact for day-to-day client needs.
  • Maintain visibility across ongoing client activity, proactively following up on open items, upcoming launches, contractual requirements, and other deliverables.
  • Coordinate internally to ensure client questions and issues are addressed accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify potential relationship risks, additional client needs, or opportunities for expanded engagement and communicate these to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Over time, take broader ownership of assigned client relationships and help ensure clients receive a consistent, high-quality experience across MerQube.

Contracting, Onboarding & Project Coordination

  • Manage client onboarding and coordinate the process from initial commercial agreement through contracting, implementation, and launch.
  • Develop a clear understanding of each project, including the product being launched, the role of the index, relevant counterparties, required services, and key commercial and contractual terms.
  • Draft contracts using established templates and coordinate reviews with Sales, Legal, and other stakeholders.
  • Work directly with clients to move contracts and onboarding requirements through completion, proactively identifying and resolving issues that could delay contracting, onboarding, or launch.
  • Track project milestones and ensure key information and requirements are communicated effectively across internal teams.

Client Information & Technology

  • Maintain accurate and timely client, contract, contact, project, and relationship information in Salesforce, ensuring key information is documented and accessible to relevant internal teams.
  • Use Salesforce and other internal tools to monitor client activity, the sales pipeline, upcoming contractual events, launches, reporting obligations, and other relationship requirements.
  • Leverage AI and other technology responsibly to analyze information, identify actionable insights, develop dashboards and reporting, and create more efficient ways of managing and understanding our client relationships.
  • Contribute to improvements in Client Services processes, reporting, tools, and controls as the business continues to scale.

Sales & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales to maintain visibility into the sales pipeline and ensure opportunities, next steps, and key information are accurately captured and kept current in Salesforce.
  • Provide sales operations support as needed, including pipeline reporting, data management, and coordination of information across teams.
  • Help ensure a smooth transition from prospective opportunities into contracting, onboarding, and ongoing account management.
  • Partner with internal teams to provide client and pipeline context and ensure projects and requests are appropriately prioritized and communicated.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing as appropriate on client communications, events, and other relationship initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in client services, account management, financial services, indexing, asset management, management consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in financial markets and a desire to develop a deeper understanding of indices and index-linked products.
  • Familiarity with ETFs and other financial products that use, reference, or track indices strongly preferred; exposure to structured products, derivatives, asset management, or index licensing is a plus.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills, both verbal and written, with the confidence to interact professionally with a range of stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple clients, projects, contracts, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Solutions-oriented and proactive, with the ability to identify issues, coordinate across teams, and drive matters toward resolution.
  • Comfortable working independently within a fast-paced, collaborative, global organization.
  • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform strongly preferred.
