About Wrisk

Wrisk is a leading insurtech empowering automotive brands to offer flexible, modern insurance solutions directly to their customers. Operating as a regulated Managing General Agent (MGA) in the UK, Wrisk combines cutting-edge technology, user-centric design, and insurance expertise to deliver seamless customer journeys. We partner with global automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), capacity providers, and third-party supply chain networks to reshape how automotive insurance is sold and serviced.

The Role at a Glance

The Claims Manager will lead Wrisk’s UK Claims proposition, taking full operational ownership of our claims ecosystem. This pivotal role is the bridge between our external third-party administrators (TPAs), supply chain partners, capacity providers and internal teams.

Internally, you will drive claims strategy, helping to protect loss ratios and feeding actionable claims intelligence into pricing and product design. Externally, you will deliver robust governance over outsourced claims partners, ensuring high commercial value, strict regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer outcomes in line with OEM partners’ brand standards.

What You’ll Do

Claims Oversight & TPA Governance

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end claims value chain for UK programs, maintaining direct governance over fault and non-fault partners
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce strong TPA governance frameworks, including claims authority limits, contractual SLAs/KPIs, loss leakage controls and technical quality audits
  • Collaborate with TPAs, capacity partners and our internal Insights team to build comprehensive claims reporting suites. Analyse data to track loss trends, identify bottlenecks and drive indemnity cost-containment
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for insurer claims audits and facilitate seamless communication between capacity providers, suppliers and internal teams.

Regulatory Compliance & Conduct Risk

  • Ensure claims practices, internal or via TPA’s, adhere strictly to FCA guidelines, with explicit embedding of FCA Consumer Duty standards across customer touchpoints
  • Monitor market and legal developments (e.g. technology solutions, UKGI claims regulations) to ensure Wrisk’s ecosystem remains compliant and forward-thinking
  • Oversee high-stakes, litigated, or complex claims in collaboration with capacity providers and legal counsel.

Technical Feedback Loops & Cross-Functional Integration:

  • Serve as the primary Claims Subject Matter Expert (SME), translating claims insights and loss drivers into actionable inputs to Pricing, Underwriting and Product teams as well as insurer partners.
  • Partner with Platform and Engineering teams to enhance digital claims workflows, automated event-based triggers and FNOL integrations.
  • Partner with Customer Care to optimise customer feedback loops, conduct root-cause analysis on complaints and deliver technical training where needed.

Strategic Evolution

  • Steward the strategic development of Wrisk's UK claims target operating model, driving efficiencies while safeguarding customer experience.
  • Support European business units and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) partners on claims architecture and directional considerations as needed.

About You

Education & Professional Credentials

  • Degree-level qualification is preferred.
  • Professional certification in general insurance (ACII / FCII) or claims management (e.g., Associate in Claims – AIC) is preferred.

Key Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in UK Personal Lines Motor claims management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or senior oversight role.
  • Proven track record in claims supply management, ideally within an intermediated delegated authority framework.
  • Strong technical knowledge across the full UK motor claims lifecycle: FNOL, triaging, engineering/repairs, credit hire, total loss, fraud management and litigation.
  • Demonstrable experience using claims insights to influence underwriting policy, pricing strategies and digital product features
  • Strong familiarity with UKGI regulatory frameworks, FCA Consumer Duty requirements and 1st Line of Defence risk governance.

Key Competencies

  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Skilled at managing contract performance, driving SLA compliance, and maintaining strong relationships with TPAs and capacity providers
  • Customer & Conduct Centricity: Passionate about customer outcomes, fair treatment, and maintaining OEM brand integrity
  • Data-Driven & Commercial: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret complex claims data to control loss ratios and drive operational efficiency
  • Change Leadership & Communication: Clear communicator capable of articulating claims strategy to C-suite stakeholders and building cross-functional alignment across tech and insurance teams.

What We Offer (Our Value Proposition)

At Wrisk, we believe exceptional claims management thrives in an environment built on trust, clear ownership, and pragmatic execution. Joining as Claims Manager of our UK MGA entity means stepping into a pivotal role where your technical expertise directly shapes our claims ecosystem, supplier governance, and loss ratio performance as we continue to scale.

  • Strategic Impact: End-to-end oversight of our UK claims solution, giving you the autonomy to build, govern and continuously evolve our claims target operating model
  • Hybrid & Flexible Working Culture: A modern UK-based hybrid working setup that offers the flexibility to manage your time effectively while fostering high-impact, face-to-face collaboration with TPA suppliers, capacity partners and internal teams
  • Competitive Compensation & Benefits Package: A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and reward your impact as we scale our business
  • Collaborative & Tech-Forward Culture: A clear, open environment where cross-functional collaboration is central to how we work and where technical decisions are made pragmatically and transparently.
