We are recruiting two motivated and collaborative Housing Change & Improvement Leads to lead delivery across Homelessness & Housing Needs, and Housing Management & Operations. This could involve working on housing pathways for vulnerable homeless applicants, strengthening homelessness prevention, how we meet new legislative requirements or deliver repairs and leaseholder services.

About the Team:

The Housing Transformation Team leads and coordinates major change across Housing Needs and Housing Operations, reporting to the Corporate Director of Housing. We work with services, senior leaders and corporate specialists to define problems, design solutions and enable delivery within a complex housing environment.

We welcome applications from people who are passionate about resident-centred service improvement and have experience working collaboratively with residents to understand issues, design solutions and deliver sustainable improvements that make a tangible difference to people's lives.

About the role

These roles will be central to delivering Lambeth Housing’s transformation programme. You will lead priority change projects that improve service performance, strengthen assurance, support better and more consistent outcomes for residents, and contribute to long-term financial sustainability.

Reporting to the Housing Transformation Lead, you will lead a portfolio of change and improvement projects. You will use evidence, data, insight and professional expertise to diagnose and identify root causes, and develop practical solutions. In delivery, you will build support for change, mobilising the right people, lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams and partner with operational colleagues. You will develop clear delivery plans, maintain momentum and report on progress, ensuring improvements are implemented, embedded and deliver sustainable outcomes.

About you

We are looking for experienced, strategic and delivery-focused change professionals who can operate confidently in a complex and changing environment.

The role is primarily based at the Lambeth Civic Centre in Brixton but may require work across the borough. You will be expected to work from the office at least two days per week.

You will bring:

• a strong track record of leading service improvement or transformation within a large and complex organisation, and be strategic in your outlook
• knowledge and experience of housing, regulation, compliance, assurance or working within a regulated environment
• experience engaging service users to understand needs, design solutions and improve outcomes
• strong analytical skills, the ability to diagnose complex problems and use qualitative and quantitative evidence and insight to inform your approach and evaluation
• sound project and programme management skills, drawing on delivery methods to deliver measurable improvements in performance, outcomes, compliance, efficiency or financial sustainability
• the ability to build credibility quickly and influence effectively across organisational and professional boundaries
• confidence working with senior leaders, operational teams and subject matter experts, bringing stakeholders with you through change
• excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex issues clear to different audiences; and,
• a collaborative, curious and continuous-improvement mindset.

Housing or local government experience is desirable; but more so, an ability to understand the operating context quickly, build shared ownership and move improvement work from planning into delivery.
