We are looking for a highly capable and self-driven BI professional to join our growing Business Intelligence team, providing market, product, operational, commercial and financial insights for stakeholders across Trayport. As a core member of the BI team, you will be instrumental in transforming complex, often unstructured data into clear, actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions.

You are a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and isn't afraid of "messy" data. More than just a technical expert, you act as a bridge between our data infrastructure and the wider business, seamlessly adapting your communication style to collaborate with both technical engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Analytics: Design, develop, and maintain interactive, high-performance dashboards and reports using Tableau.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships across departments, acting as a trusted data advisor to both technical teams and non-technical business leaders.
  • Data Storytelling: Extract meaning from messy, complex datasets and present clear, compelling visual narratives that guide executive decision-making.
  • Database Management: Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries within SQL Server and Snowflake environments to ensure efficient data extraction and processing.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Champion data governance best practices, ensuring high data literacy, accuracy, and security across the organization.
  • Automation & Scripting: Enhancing our analytical capabilities through automation, building data pipelines, and integrating APIs. Using AI tooling where appropriate, demonstrating an understanding of its strengths and limitations.
  • Code Management: Maintain clean, version-controlled code using Git/source control best practices.

Required Skills

  • BI Expertise: Hands-on experience with leading BI visualization tools (Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI) in a commercial analytics role
  • Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into plain language, managing stakeholder expectations and building cross-functional relationships.
  • Data Literacy & Governance: Highly data literate with a strong grasp of data governance principles, data modeling, and master data management.
  • Database Skills: Strong proficiency with SQL, with the ability to write robust, performant queries and manage relational data.
  • Programming: Practical coding experience in Python, .NET or similar for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
  • Engineering Best Practices: Solid understanding of source control (e.g., Git) and modern deployment workflows.
  • Mindset: A proactive self-starter who is comfortable navigating ambiguity and bringing structure to messy data environments. Naturally curious who will dig a level deeper into the data and question assumptions.

Desirable Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Snowflake, DBT, Airflow: Practical experience working with Snowflake, DBT and Airflow

Trayport is committed to creating and sustaining a collegial work environment in which all individuals are treated with dignity and respect and one which reflects the diversity of the community in which we operate. We provide accommodations for applicants and employees who require it.
