We are looking for a confident, ambitious and detail-focused Assistant Management Accountant to join our collaborative finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their technical accounting experience, broaden commercial understanding and build a strong long-term career in finance.

Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and Group Financial Systems Controller, you will support reporting for our key Group legal entities. You will gain hands-on experience across a broad range of finance activities, including month-end reporting, reconciliations, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, payroll accounting and audit.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and management reporting
  • Prepare monthly income and cost variance analysis to present to Group FC and Group FSC
  • Assist with month-end processes, ensuring financial information is complete, accurate and delivered within agreed deadlines
  • Assist with core payroll processes, including the preparation and submission of payroll change data and journals and completion of monthly reconciliations to Sage
  • Prepare and review Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with Internal and External Year End audit
  • Liaising with other departments where required
  • Support finance projects and other ad hoc activities as required

Education & Experience – Essential

  • Currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification (Part-qualified ACCA / CIMA)
  • 2-3 years’ relevant finance or management accounting experience
  • Practical experience of management accounting and month-end processes
  • Previous experience within financial services is desirable but not essential

Education & Experience – Desirable

  • Working knowledge of Sage 200 / Sage Intacct
  • Experience in implementing change or process improvement
