Overview of role:
Responsible for design, build and configuration work for Azure projects including builds, migrations and modernisations, with an emphasis on containerisation. Operating in both a hands-on capacity, as well as providing leadership and best-practice guidance to our outsourced infrastructure teams.
Location:
Remote with very occasional travel to either London, South of England, or Cardiff (a couple of times per quarter max).
Salary: £80,000 (DOE)

Technical knowledge required:
Skilled in building, extending and evolving Terraform Modules
Skilled in building YAML-based pipelines and working with git-based repos (Azure DevOps / GitHub)
Experience in desired state configuration / config as code using technologies such as Ansible / Puppet / Powershell DSC
Experience with a broad range of Azure-based services including server-based and serverless compute, database technologies, and container technologies such as Docker / Kubernetes / AKS / ACI / ARO
Proven background in System Administration fundamentals including networking, Windows and Linux configuration, and web server stacks.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence senior stakeholders and a broad range of individuals across various disciplines
What the role will involve:
Developing/proving patterns using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) & Configuration-as-Code (CaC) approaches such as Terraform and Ansible
Take a lead engineering role on selected projects, developing IaC and CaC to ensure automated, repeatable deployments
Provide guidance and leadership to support project teams from formational stages (preliminary designs, estimation) and throughout the development lifecycle to ensure that infrastructure deliverables meet requirements.
