Global Data Analytics Firm is hiring for a SAS DI Engineer to be based in Leeds. This will be a 6 or 12 month FTC paying between £70K – £85K pro rata. The role is hybrid and requires 2-3 days in the office and the remaining days working from home. You will ideally have over 10 years experience working hands-on in SAS, SAS DI and/or SAS VIYA development.
Responsibilities for the SAS DI Engineer include:
* Design data models/ structures to support modelling / reporting / change processes.
* Working in an agile delivery team within an agile scrum framework
* Understand the customer requirements and strategic vision for architecture and
design technical solution options that meets the strategic vision.
* Provide guidance to developers and help them implement the solution as per the
design created.
* Liaise with other projects to achieve synergies and propose/assess mutually
beneficial design / delivery decisions.
* Work with architectural, business and other engineering leads to shape, design and
engineer solutions
* Work hands-on developing ETL jobs in SAS DI and work on documenting the same in JIRA
/ Confluence
Skills required:
* Data modelling experience – creating Logical, physical data models
* Ability to develop Technical document / process flows for the As-is state and write
requirements for the Future state solution
* ETL designing experience – should have worked on creating designs for building data
mart, data warehouse (High/Low & Mid-level designs)
* Someone who started as an ETL developer and transitioned into data architect role
will also be suitable
* Candidate should have SAS background – Base SAS/ SAS EG & SAS DI
* Good communication skills are necessary as the role requires lot of stakeholder
engagement
* Ability to take business requirements and translate into formal technical
/architecture designs
