Job Title: Disrepair Surveyor
Location: North London
Rate: £30 – £35 p/h
Skilled Careers are working in partnership with a widely recognised local authority. They are looking for an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to cover a patch of properties in North London.
You will have a wide range of specialist skills including Disrepair, property surveying, both internal and external and a good understanding of construction and building methods gained by previous experience in a similar role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparing competent & thorough surveys and reports on all matters. You will carry out inspections and identify appropriate remedial works.
Carrying out pre-inspections and building surveys to identify defects including preparation of detailed reports, specifications and cost estimates where necessary to ensure the appropriate remedial works are undertaken, to ensure effective and appropriate repair solution ensuring all current and applicable regulations are complied with.
Working closely and flexibly with other staff in delivering high quality maintenance service to our external and internal customers through the provision of professional technical advice, project and contractor management
Providing regular and professional communication and liaison with customers and key stakeholders in relation to works instructed and managed by the service.
Ensuring budget responsibilities are met, feeding into forecasting and efficiency plans as required.
Providing technical advice on building defects and diagnosis to the organisation, including the day-to-day responsive repair service, as well as, from time to time, carrying out post inspections of repairs to help better manage our contractors.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
HND/C Building with demonstrable post qualification experience or BSc Building with post qualification experience.
OR
Extensive and demonstrable Disrepair surveying experience
You will have a wide range of specialist skills including property surveying, both internal and external and a good understanding of construction and building methods gained by previous experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of contract and housing law and will have ideally worked for Housing Associations or Local Authorities.
You will be able to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and will have excellent communication skills.
Must hold a driving licence.
