Our client is looking for a Logistics Manager in London.
You will be responsible for initiating and leading tasks and processes, taking responsibility and being accountable, where relevant, for the work and roles of others whilst exercising broad autonomy and judgement within broad parameters in their area of responsibility. Specialist learning and involves detailed analysis of a high level of information and knowledge in an area of work or study
Summary of Role
Responsible for leading and initiating tasks to ensure that the logistical requirements of the project with respect to resources of labour, materials and plant are procured and delivered in accordance with the demands of the programme and budget. Works alongside Construction Managers, Office Manager and Works Managers to ensure the project needs are understood and delivered to.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
HSE
* Involved in appropriate selection of plant and resources in accordance safe systems of work
* Understanding environmental requirements of plant and materials including relevant legislation
* Capable of inspecting plant and delivering briefings on distribution and application of resources
* Directing logistics labour teams to service the works
IT
* Use of COINS and DATUM
* Developing spreadsheets etc. from first principles for purposes of allocation and cost reconciliation
Task
* Ordering of Plant on Coins to meet the needs of the project
* Updating the Live Hire report i.e. Coding this for things like Prelims, contract works etc
* Keeping LOLER and PUWER up to date for Plant, including inspection and testing regimes
* Checking Timesheets for Plant against Allocations and inputting hours into Coins
* Adding and Maintaining Asset numbers for Plant on Coins
* Coding of Allocations sheets and keeping a log for the commercial management team
* Ordering of Materials including reconciliation through Goods Receipts Notices
* Keeping control of labour resources through management of allocation sheets
* Dealing with Procurement for prices and availability of materials
* Day to day running of compound & offices
* Keeping a good record of Labour i.e. working on Prelims or instructed work for commercial team
* Opening up and locking of mobile offices
* Security of site
Commercial
* Preparing and monitoring of budgets for the logistical needs of the project
* Able to estimate budgets and recommend leaner solutions to site requirements
* Ensuring timely deliveries to match the needs of the programme
* Provide forecast of spend and usage of resources and determine any inefficiencies
* Liaise with works teams to ensure cost effective timely procurement, ensuring transparency of costs
* Ensure that the productivity of the procured resources are monitored and improved where possible
* Assist the business/project in achieving the objectives/targets set in the the companies Carbon Strategy within your specific work activities
