One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a Skills & Employment Strategy Adviser. This is a temporary contract for 6 months with possible further extension based on budget and performance.
Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary
This role is responsible for the day to day design and development of new skills and employment programmes that deliver a diverse and inclusive talent pipeline aligned to the Mayors Strategy, TfL's people strategy and government skills agenda and policy.
The role focuses on advising and supporting business stakeholders in ensuring skills and employment interventions are designed to ensure participants develop the required skills and behaviours that meet the medium to long term skill needs of both the organisation and the industry.
Programmes to be designed will vary in line with the changing skills and employment landscape but could include apprenticeship programmes, apprenticeship standards, T-Levels, T-Level industrial placements, pre-apprenticeship schemes, work experience schemes and social mobility programmes.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Identify and advise relevant business stakeholders in representing TfL on relevant government Apprenticeship and T-Level Trailblazers in the development of industry wide occupational standards that meet the long term diverse and scarcity skills requirements of the industry. Co-ordinate outcomes and contribute to the design of occupational standards as required
* Under the guidance of the Skills & Employment Strategy Manager design and develop new cost effective Skills and Employment interventions in line with the changing government skills agenda and as determined by the business plan
* Engage and brief colleagues on new programmes to enable smooth implementation into business as usual delivery within the Skills & Employment and wider HR team
* Manage the TfL Apprenticeship Levy fund through the government Apprenticeship Service system ensuring relevant internal audits are carried out by finance and apprenticeship cohorts are accurately maintained and updated on the system
* Working with procurement and business stakeholders co-ordinate the required procurement activity of skills and employment providers including sponsorship, training, and partner arrangements, and working with colleagues undertake contract management activities in line with service level agreements
* Support the Skills & Employment Strategy Manager in the production of skills and employment relevant reports and strategy updates for TfL internal and external publications
